The Raiders have been thorough and patient in the process of finding their next head coach and Wednesday brought a few notable updates on the search.
It could still be a few days before we know who’s getting the job, but it’s starting to look like there is a clear front runner.
Let’s take a look at the latest developments around the Raiders’ head coaching search…
Was former Chargers DC Jesse Minter offered the Raiders HC job before taking the Ravens job?
League insider Jordan Schultz said the Raiders made a “very strong push” to hire Minter six days ago, but there is good reason to believe Minter never received an offer from the Raiders.
On Wednesday, Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter confirmed there was no offer on the table for Minter from the Raiders.
“The Raiders cast a wide net. There were rumors that they made an offer to Jesse Minter,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.
“They did not offer the job to Jesse Minter.”
Klint Kubiak will reportedly interview with the Raiders over the weekend
There were some who believed Kubiak might be falling down the Raiders’ wish list, in part because Adam Schefter wasn’t naming him as a top candidate in Las Vegas and he didn’t have a second interview on the books.
But that all changed on Wednesday when it was reported that Kubiak was expected to interview at the end of the week.
Vinny Bonsignore reported later in the day that the interview is expected to take place on Saturday.
Raiders not competing with anyone for Kubiak?
It has been rumored that Kubiak will meet with the Cardinals, but Arizona isn’t considered a serious contender for Kubiak and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport supported that assumption on Wednesday.
”They have done a lot of legwork,” Rapoport said of the Raiders’ coaching search.
”It doesn’t seem like they are competing with anyone right now, so they can take a breath, take their time, and make sure it’s right.”
What Rapoport’s didn’t allude to though was the fact that waiting too long to commit to a head coach could hurt the Raiders when it comes to hiring assistant coaches.
That might be something to keep an eye on if the Raiders don’t know who they are going to hire by the end of the weekend.

Hire Kubiak!
And then there’s this hypothetical – Kubiak stays put in Seattle and Webb is promoted to Denver’s OC. I suppose if this happens then Brady and Spytek can hang out at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and ask tourists if they’re interested.
Just hire Webb.
Say we get Kubiak that’s Great, But who will coach the defense,? Chris Shula a young upcoming DC
Jim Schwartz DC he’s looking for a job maybe soon
