Maxx Crosby’s future with the Raiders might still be up in the air but listening to him talk on his podcast on Tuesday, it sounds like he is no longer interested in playing anywhere else.
Crosby talked about the day he spent with the Ravens and how he learned about the nixed trade from his agent. He added that the entire day in Baltimore didn’t feel right, but he knew when he got back to Las Vegas, he was in the place he was supposed to be.
“You know how my mind works. Everything happens for a reason. Truly. And you can’t control that,” Crosby said on The Rush.
“Nobody on earth could have predicted that. I don’t think it’s ever happened at that level. So I didn’t know what to say [when I got back to the Raiders building], but I’m like, ‘I’m not letting nobody knock my shine and not make me feel weird at anything. I’m like [this] sh– happens for a reason. I know exactly who I am. I’m healthy. I’m f—ing crushing my rehab. I’m doing what I’m doing,” Crosby continued.
“I wasn’t supposed to be in Baltimore and that’s it. I’m meant to be a Raider. It’s through my **** core and that’s it. You know what I mean? I’ll leave it simple as that. I just feel like storms happen. When you’re in it, you’re thinking, ‘Oh, it’s because of this, this is why it’s happening,’ and this and that. That sh– happen for a whole different reason and it just made everything so much more clear and just cleared the path. It’s just a crazy situation, but it’s just another chapter to the story and I was fired up to get back in the building.”
Crosby acknowledged that he could still end up playing somewhere else, but for his part he’s ready to be a Raider for the long haul.
“You never know in this **** league. I found that out, for sure. But I just feel like I’m meant to be a Raider and that’s what it is,” Crosby said.
“So all the fans, I appreciate everyone, all the support, obviously all the concerns. Why isn’t he talking about this? I just didn’t want to be a distraction. Truly. And a lot of people, you know, had their thoughts on how certain things were handled, and trust me, there were disagreements. Like, I had a lot of disagreements with certain people. But at the end of the day, I want to win,” Crosby continued.
“I know my intentions were pure, and I know exactly where I’m coming from. I don’t even have to explain all that. That’s for another day. I’m there, like I said, I’m there to win. I want to win so f—ing bad. My legacy, and my teammates and my passion for the game is at an all-time high. It just adds another chip on my shoulder that I didn’t know I needed or didn’t know it was coming.”
