NFL Network Insider Thinks the Raiders will Target Chris Jones in Free Agency

Chris Jones is probably the top free agent in this year’s class, and there’s no guarantee that the 30 year-old defensive lineman is going to return to the Chiefs.

Where would he go if the Chiefs aren’t able to fit him into the budget?

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Raiders would be a team to watch.

”He may stay in the AFC West,” Garafolo said on The NFL Report.

”I’m just saying the place where he played his last game as a Chief, may be his first game with somebody… I’m just saying… I’m just trying to find a way to not allude to the fact that it’s the Raiders I’m talking about.”

James Palmer on Twitter: “The #chiefs are working to bring back Chris Jones. Can they do it? Or does he land elsewhere in the AFC WEST???? Breaking it down with @mikegarafolo on #TheNFLReportWatch the full show now!https://t.co/SS2JFdI4cp pic.twitter.com/uykv3EOvk8 / Twitter”

It’s no secret that the Raiders want to add an interior defensive lineman in the offseason, and signing Jones wouldn’t just give them arguably the best player in the NFL at the position…

It would also take the best player at the position away from the Chiefs.

As of Tuesday, the Chiefs are about $3 million under the salary cap while the Raiders could easily get to $70 million under the cap in a matter of days.

So buckle up, Raider fans…

This offseason is going to be an exciting one for the Silver & Black.

  1. Getting Jones from Chiefs would be sweet…. Also is there any chance at all of moving up and getting Daniels? I mean I know it’s going to be real expensive… is it possible???

  2. Yes, he would be a great addition. I am concerned with his age. Drafting Jaydon Daniels should be a top priority. Do what it takes for the dual threat qb. Look at what the Texans have done with CJ stroud. From holding the anchor to playoffs in 1 year. That’s why you need a qb like Daniels. If you want to play with qb’s like mahommes and Herbert you need a leader not a gimp not a band aid. A qb who will be the leader. Let jacobs walk. Go get Henry!

  3. Please No!! Wilkins from the Dolphins is a better alternative long term. Younger and cheaper also.
