Officials Appear to Have Blown Pivotal Call in Raiders’ Loss to Colts

The Raiders are no strangers to bad calls and the officiating crew in Indianapolis had a few good ones spare to help eliminate the Raiders from the playoffs on Sunday.

Not only did the Raiders get hit with a pair of critical, and very questionable, pass interference flags in the fourth quarter, the game was essentially sealed for the Colts on what looked to be a phantom offsides call.

The CBS broadcast chose not to show a replay of the offsides call that allowed the Colts another try at the game-sealing field goal, but this video making rounds on social media seems to show that cornerback Jack Jones timed the snap of the ball perfectly…

NFLCentral on Twitter: “The Referees called CB Jack Jones offsides here…The Kicker missed the FG but was given another opportunity because of this call. This ultimately led to the #Raiders losing this game. Was Jones actually offsides? pic.twitter.com/nt3NUAMGXR / Twitter”

“Nowhere close to offsides. Nowhere,” Jones told the Las Vegas Review Journal after the game. “There was no explanation. Tell him to go watch the tape, though.”

The All-22 tape will be released later this week and it will hopefully show another perspective of the missed 50-yard field goal missed by Colts’ kicker Matt Gay.

It’s possible that Jones lined up offsides, but that doesn’t appear to be the case from the camera angles that we have so far.

The only other sideline video available belongs to CBS and for whatever reason, they weren’t offering it during the telecast.

Maybe they’ll make the decision to share it this week?

  1. There’s nothing new about the Raiders getting screwed by the punk refs. Happens all the time they are playoff bound.

  2. Well, the Raiders were not going into the playoffs. The only thing they could accomplish was to move back in the draft order. And, eliminate the Colts. And So, the NFL officials appear
to make these calls to insure the Indianapolis Colts were not eliminated from the playoffs.
There is “No” question that (NFL) officials have recently been very involved in the outcome
of football games. The effort on the part of the Raiders was good even though they did not
    anything to gain from winning.

  3. Kelce needs to keep his mouth shut. The Chiefs have not played well in many games this year
The Raiders are 4-5 players away from winning their division next year.
I have been very impressed with Aiden O ‘Connel and his development.

  4. It’s no question that we are the most hated franchise in sports. We have been since Al Davis took the NFL to court and won. Just look at our schedule every year. We go 6-11 and our schedule looks like we won the freaking super bowl.

  5. The NFL is fixed!!! Root for Jon Gruden to win his law suit against the fixed NFL.

  6. I was very disappointed in the officiating of the game between the Raiders and the Colts. There was playing passing interference against the Raiders receivers, and nothing got called. The officiating went blind, but everything went Colway all the way to the end. Raiders got cheated once again and that’s the way the NFL works, they want to put who they want in the playoffs and keep teams like the Raiders out we gotta clean up the NFL it’s rigged

  7. Since when have we relied on fair treatment in the NFL? 17-0 or 0-17, don’t matter. Silver and Black 4 life.

  8. Hmm it appeaгs like your bⅼog ate my first сomment (it was extremely long) so I guess
