Overwhelming Majority of Raider Fans Believe the NFL Performed a “Hit Job” on the Organization

With their 34-24 win in Denver on Sunday, the Raiders took a positive step in the process of moving on from Jon Gruden. From an on-field perspective, it seems the Raiders might be fine without Gruden.

But off the field there is still a lot to sort out.

Gruden wore a lot of hats in the Raiders’ building and many of those voids probably won’t be filled until after the season. There will presumably be some kind of settlement between the Raiders and Gruden, but the public’s perception of the events that led to Gruden’s resignation will continue to evolve until we know exactly who leaked the emails and what motivated the timing of their release.

It seems that Raiders’ owner Mark Davis isn’t particularly pleased with the way the league handled the release of Gruden’s emails – especially considering the NFL knew about the emails months before going public with them. It has been reported that Davis feels like the email leak was a “hit job” against Gruden and the Raiders.

From the fan perspective, it’s safe to say that the vast majority of Raider fans believe the NFL was targeting the team by releasing the email during the season (and right after their 3-0 start). A recent Twitter poll might not have featured the most unbiased group of voters, but the thought process among Raider fans is undeniable…

POLL: Do you believe the Gruden email leak was a “hit job” by the NFL against the #Raiders?

As of now, there is no evidence that the NFL leaked Gruden’s emails, but it’s also true that there weren’t many individuals outside of the league who had access to the emails. And when it comes to the content of the rest of the 649,000 emails that were reviewed in the WFT investigation, that’s the way the NFL is fighting hard to keep it.

  1. Set up and bogus !!!!
NFL new before the season started , and waited for the
3 and 0 to play Monday night and then the following Thursday to torpedo the organization.
Someone had to receive the emails and reply, where are they? Why hasn’t their name came up?
