Raiders Called One of the “Worst Designed Plays” in NFL History on Monday, Host Says

The Raiders have been struggling to find an identity on offense for 11 weeks and on Monday, the story was no different.

The Cowboys dominated Chip Kelly’s offense in front of a national audience on Monday night, and it’s starting to feel like the real identity of the Raiders’ offense is that they just can’t get anything right.

Raider Nation Radio host ‘JT the Brick’ talked about the team’s issues on offense on Tuesday and said he saw a play in the fourth quarter that was one of the worst designed plays he has ever watched.

“If you heard me all week, or last week, I said, ‘How interesting is it going to be if we hand the ball up the middle to Ashton Jeanty and he runs it into the pile?’ How many times did you hear that from me?” JT asked on his Raider Nation Radio show.

“Against Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark, the one thing you can’t do is you can’t hand the ball to this kid up the middle. We tried it a few times. The safety was one of the worst designed plays I’ve seen in NFL history.”

“You’re at the one-yard line. You have Ashton Jeanty seven yards deep. I blew it up on my big screen in my office. He was past the halfway part in the end zone… the ball is out of the end zone on the one-yard line, and he’s at least six or seven yards deep, standing up straight like Michael Myers. And I’m watching that, and I’m saying to myself, ‘There’s no way they’re going to hand the ball up the middle to him.'”

“I froze it. I have a remote where I can go slow and fast. I watched that play for about 15 minutes. And I said to myself, ‘In what possible world can you hand the ball up the middle out of the end zone to Ashton Gentry into a wall? Like what is the concept of that play? You can’t do that. That’s the one thing you can’t do.”

With Kolton Miller and Jackson Powers-Johnson on injured reserve, the Raiders have arguably the worst offensive line in football, but it’s also true that the coaching staff hasn’t done enough to help the situation.

Kelly’s play calling has been objectionable for most of the season and that’s being kind.

Here’s the play in question on Tuesday night…

Nine men in the box for the Cowboys. No full back in the Raiders’ backfield and 182-pound Tre Tucker is the only player behind the line of scrimmage with Jeanty.

  3. So while Mark Davis’ team was getting blown out again, he was seen hanging out with three would & wanna be Spice Girls in his luxury box, reportedly. They were all wearing sunglasses and anyone attending these games should be wearing a bag over their head for even being at one of these games. Mark Davis did not appear to be paying attention to his team and this is not a new problem. He is not serious about winning and this team has thrown in the towel, we should too in the form of a boycott. Why Boycott? This team is not just irrelvant to football it is irrelvant to sports in general. Mark Davis’ team is making a profit with out winning in this town and they are content to be losers. That is not accaptable, so let the call go out to abondon ship and BOYCOTT.

Mark is not true to his fathers legacy and vision so he should just sell it. If Al Davis loved this team more than his son, is this why Mark is destroying it? When a team is as far as the raiders are under the salary cap, they are not committed to winning. This is the number one sign your team has given up, they are not trying to compete anymore. The PR spin is that Mark Davis’ team is trying to build a team like Detriot. Wait, WTF, Detriot? We call BS, Amik Robertson and Rock Ya Sin both start for Detriot because we are too cheap to keep talent like this anymore. THE RAIDERS ARE RUNNING A MINOR LEAGUE TEAM, BOYCOTT THIS BS!

  4. When you’re right, you’re right.
And there is no argument. Our offensive line is the worst in the NFL by a long shot. The worst offensive line in the history of the Raiders franchise.

    1. And yet, Mr. political, baa baa Black Sheep, will come to the aid of his secret love, Chip Kelly.
      We’re all waiting.

  5. Yet another Chip Kelly hit piece article. Pathetic.

Did you watch the offensive line play Monday Night?

What scheme could work with the line playing like that?

This website is trying to get scapegoat Kelly and get him fired when the real blame is on Cosch Biden.
