The Raiders were embarrassed 31-0 by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and it would appear from the outside that the team has lost interest on the field.
The Raiders are no longer a competitive football team in any sense of the term, and defensive tackle Adam Butler shared a few pointed words, seemingly at teammates. after Sunday’s game.
“I would definitely say there is probably too many people talking and not enough people doing,” Butler told Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter.
“As a leader, I just try to show the young guys what to do. How to play the run, how to play the pass, how to be a smart football player. That’s all I can do. I’ve learned very quickly through this season that you can only control what you can control. You can’t control other people’s job or what anybody else is doing. The only thing you can focus on is you. I try to focus on being a leader to the young guys that look up to me.”
Considering the way they lost on Sunday, Butler could have been talking about any number of players. The offense was as bad as it’s been all season, and the defense is no longer the strength of the team.
Now 14 games into the season, the Raiders have improved at nothing and are without question the worst team in the NFL.
Pete Carroll’s fate has all but been determined and the best thing he can accomplish in his final three games with the team would be to secure the no. 1 pick in the draft.
Any draft position lower than the first-overall pick would be a disappointment and an outright effort to tank the final three games would be the most dignified way to end the season.

They need to terminate the Brady experiment, as well. His “input” has made the team worse without a doubt. Hire an experienced team president to run the team in this ultra important offseason. Enough of the part time team builder, Brady.
Yep, this is how dumb Mark is, he’s the got the money now to run this like a successful organization but all he does is act like a 14 year old girl.
Hopefully Brady realizes what a moron he is & he steps away from the team.
You notice Mark & Brady NEVER talk about the Raiders. They must know 95% of fans hate their guts
MARK = MAN BOY
Agreed, it’s not brain surgery, the examples of how to build a successful franchise, in fairly
short order, are all over the league, yet Davis keeps making the same stupid mistakes and expecting different results.
Nothing to talk about. I hear Crickets!
This was an embarrassment to anyone who has cared about the Raiders for years, and I have been a fan since the ’60s. I have never seen a game without one bright spot. Pickett had no time to do anything, the defense left open receivers everywhere. Before this game, I debated using our very high pick on the OL or a QB. If we have a better OL, then we presumably will win more games and thus not have such a high pick for possibly years. But if we pick a great QB (and everyone knows that’s a crap shoot and will take time), that person will be working behind a damaged OL. At this point, this team needs everything, including coaches that give players a reason to try. Look at the Saints. They are continuing to play hard in a wasted season. We are not.
I would say this coaching staff as a whole have 💩 the bed there is no progress only extreme regression the one strength of this team is now the weakest the defense has been gutted for Pete Carroll favorites who have done absolutely nothing but cause penalties, miss blocks, miss tackles, nothing & I mean nothing good has come from a Pete Carroll led team except maybe this 1st round pick who i hope Pete will not be here to select b’cuz he is only known to run an out dated defense we were better off with last year’s team we just needed a better OC & QB Mark Davis has once again put this fan base at odds with the organization
With such a high pick, Pete and son must go, need to hite someone like David Shaw or Chris Shula with Brian Daboll to help the new QB. Look what Daboll did with Josh Allan and Mahomes, No Gruden
Top to bottom the team‘s performance was the worst I’ve ever seen. I too go back to the late 60s. And Petes press conference afterwards talking about not seeing quit and seeing effort made should get him fired yesterday.
At least Al’s degradation was caused by senility, there is no excuse for Mark. Ignorance isn’t an excuse.
One big house fire. Starting at the top.
