The Raiders’ offensive line has performed as poorly as any offensive line in the NFL over the first three weeks of the season, and pressure is starting to mount on the offensive coaching staff to figure out a solution.
Jackson Powers-Johnson was out last week with a concussion, but is expected to be available in week 4, although it’s unclear what coaching staff plans to do with him going forward.
The assumption is that Powers-Johnson will return to the starting lineup on Sunday and flagship radio host ‘JT the Brick’ shared a suggestion on who he might replace.
“If they want to bench Dylan Parham, bench him for a game, and bring in or move [Alex] Cappa over there or do something, they can do that. Dylan Parham deserves to be benched, in my opinion,” JT said on his Raider Nation Radio show.
“Parham made the team. If they didn’t like him, he wouldn’t have made the team. He would have been gone,” JT continued. “Everybody was gone and scrubbed from this roster if they didn’t believe in him. I think Dylan Parham could be a good player. What has happened to him?”
“There are literally plays, literally plays where someone lines up in front of him, and then no one’s in front of him and he doesn’t pick anybody up, and three guys are in the backfield.”
Parham has gone viral with two videos showing him allow free runners at Geno Smith in the last two weeks, and Pro Football Focus lists him as the Raiders’ lowest-graded offensive lineman (50.0) by a small margin below Cappa (50.4).
If JPJ returns to the starting lineup, he could play either guard position, or it is possible the coaching staff will consider returning him to center where he took first-team reps for the opening week of training camp.

We should keep our eye out to get a couple more offensive lineman that can start!
Pete Carroll has been a disappointment for him not to see what every Raider fan saw.
JT the Shill chimes in. I noticed he never said put them back at their positions that they were doing better at during the end of last year.
Now comes the “look at the situation I came into” lie. They’re gonna ditch the previous regime guys & brag about their guys all while they lose.
The Reggie/McDonalds era is back!
This is what schill means. The term “schill” is a chiefly Scottish variant of “shill,” which refers to a person who publicly helps or gives credibility to a person or organization without disclosing that they have a close relationship with said person or organization, or have been paid to do so.
JT makes no bones about telling you exactly who he works for and where his money comes from. He openly discloses his relationship to the Raiders organization several times during every show. He publicly said Parham should be benched or moved. What exactly is your issue with those remarks?
Hey JT, get a better burner account.
The quote above says he wants Parahm benched. It didn’t say he wants to MOVE, his brilliant idea is to move Cappa, the worst starter in the NFL, maybe go back to their original positions where they played better towards the end of last year & put said OL coach in charge
I’m not JT Raiderooo. Just a guy who looks up words before I use them in my rants. My mistake regarding his quote on Cappa. Cappa was not a quality choice in my mind either. I actually have not liked our line since we tried Penn at RT.
I think in common usage shill isn’t just just used for people who don’t disclose relationships. A carnival barker is obviously being paid by the carnival, does that make him any less of a shill for encouraging kids to play rigged carny games?
JT consistently carries water for Mark Davis, as he did for Al, acts as if he works for a serious organization instead of one of the worst in football, and rarely makes critical comments about those in power at any given moment. He’s a shill. Just like Bob Fitzgerald is a shill for the Warriors (He just has a better job).
Your carnival analogy is on-point. However, I stand by the comment that he adamantly tells us on-air that he does not and will not criticize the coaches or ownership because they pay him for his support on their flagship radio show. They pay him to tell THEIR STORY. He does criticize performances. He said “Geno was horrible in the charger loss.” And has said on-air that he personally does not agree with the decision to play JPJ at guard. So basically I don’t get upset with his situation I just spread my attention around to as many sources as possible and try to remember that he is doing HIS job and it is defined by ownership.
Parham has been a liability since he was drafted. I didn’t believe all the praise he was getting during training camp. That said, it’s obvious that they need to hire someone that can spot OL talent to draft linemen that can play, bc Carroll and Spytek don’t have a clue.
Left to right miller,jpj,center71,kappa,glaze or move glaze to guard and put in the new guy. After watching MNF even jackson was under pressure
