Flag football is headed to Saudi Arabia, and the recently announced tournament will feature some of the biggest names in the NFL, as well as Raiders’ minority owner Tom Brady.
Brady will be accompanied by Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Maxx Crosby, Tyreek Hill, Brock Bowers and more of the NFL’s most recognizable current and former players. Pete Carroll, Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan are said to be among the coaches involved in the event that will be held at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on March 21, 2026.
There has been speculation around what the players and coaches are going to be paid, but there’s no question the money involved is going to be unprecedented. Brady’s presence alone has been estimated to be worth between $50 and $100 million, and on Monday, Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy said he has heard the check hitting Brady’s bank account will be around $75 million.
“75 million he got paid to do this. The fastest-growing game in the world. Flag football… He got 75 million,” Portnoy said on Brady’s price to attend the Saudi-funded event. “That’s what I was told.”
On Monday evening, Brady responded to Portnoy’s claim and denied the rumor in no uncertain terms.
“Are we just picking numbers out of a hat and reporting them?” Brady posted on his X platform. “While we’re breaking news… Elvis is doing the halftime show, and babe Ruth is gonna sign some autographs for fans. Also I heard Dave prefers floppy pizza. Who cares about facts right?”
There is another number floating around on Brady’s charge for the event and while it’s underneath $75 million, it is no small figure. It’s also believed that Brady will be the highest-paid player at the event.
For what it’s worth, Portnoy was reportedly offered $10 million to attend a boxing match in Saudi Arabia a while back. If that report was accurate, it would make sense that the players and coaches attending the flag tournament in March are going to be compensated similarly.
What is certain, however, is that if the financial backers of the Saudi tournament were able to attract many of the NFL’s highest-paid players at their respective positions, they didn’t convince them to fly to the other side of the world in the offseason at a discounted price.

I have no problem with Brady doing this. My problem is he’s in charge of the team thanks to the jock sniffer. Can’t even be bothered to the job full time
