The Raiders have taken at least one call about the fourth pick, and odds are that they’ll be taking a few more in the days ahead. The list of teams known to be considering a move up grew a little today with NFL Network’s Albert Breer reporting that Atlanta is considering a move up from the 8th pick.
What’s intriguing about the Falcons is that they’ve successfully moved up before (surely they’d be willing to try it again), and a deal with Oakland would only drop the Raiders four spots. With the 8th pick, general manager Reggie McKenzie could still land an impact player – maybe even the top wide receiver on his board.
The Browns have also been linked to a trade up, but that conversation presumably revolves around Marcus Mariota who I don’t see falling past the second pick. If Mariota somehow falls to the Raiders, it seems like there are 4-5 teams who would love to move up, but why wouldn’t a team just make that deal with Tennessee or Jacksonville in the first place?
For now, keep an eye on the Falcons. They seem like the best bet to make a deal with Oakland. If no trade happens, your guess is as good as mine, but I’d bet on either Leonard Williams or Amari Cooper with a slight lean toward Williams.
And with that… who’s your pick?
