With every mounting loss, the chances are shrinking that Raiders’ interim head coach Rich Bisaccia will hold on to his job. Unless the season changes course drastically, the Raiders are just over a month away from another head-coaching search.
The problem for owner Mark Davis, though, is that for the first time in about two decades, the team actually has a solid defense. Losing defensive coordinator Gus Bradley and secondary coach Ron Milus isn’t something that should excite anyone in the organization.
With that in mind, is it possible that the Raiders will consider promoting Bradley to head coach?
Bradley already has four years of head coaching experience from his time in Jacksonville, so he understands the responsibilities that come with the job. Bradley could turn over his coordinator duties to either Milus or defensive line coach Rod Marinelli and that would allow a relatively young Raiders’ defense to build on the success they are having this year.
In that scenario, Davis could give GM Mike Mayock a one-year audition that would start by working with Bradley to find an offensive coordinator capable of getting the offense back to where it was under Jon Gruden.
Davis would love to have one more year before executing a full organizational overhaul and Bradley is the remaining coach that could afford him that opportunity.
The alternative, of course, would be to just blow everything up. Bring a new GM, who will bring a new head coach, who will bring new players to fit his new scheme.

The loss Sunday to a team (with no gotdamn name) is embarrassing. But The RAIDERS didn’t lose that game on dropped passes or not scoring inside the red zone which in our case should be called the twilight zone, we lost it on one simple call. Anytime, I mean anytime you have the chance to tie a game and maybe send it to overtime, you ALWAYS take the points, kick the **** field goal and tie the game at best, or who knows maybe a turnover could’ve happened and we could have won. But to go for a two-point conversion when we really don’t do dick inside the twenty is madness, that’s just my take on it.

Sorry but please don’t make this head coach permanent. And this writer who says the defense has greatly improved should be fired. I. Won’t even start on the officiating. But half of these refs should be fired period . Please quit mentioning Gruden and his offense. Offense is so predictable and can’t run block to save their lives. Carr out of the pocket couldn’t hit the Statue of Liberty. Win or lose us fans are always on pins and needles.
The defense is greatly improved. Does need a good D tackle. And the officiating..wow!! I can hang 2 losses on that alone. Maybe 3. Grudens Offense was good. And was improving as that terrible O line started to improve. The Ruggs thing was a killer. All that, and if the refs were not bending us over. We would be 8-4.. But the morons want to blow it all up… Pitiful
The losses to Giants & Washington just proves we’re just a sorry pitiful team just like them. Finally we have a defense yet continue to lose. Starting to believe the rheortic that Carr is the problem. Don’t get me wrong our O-Line desperately needs help & we need at minimum two wideouts, and another LB that can move sideline to sideline
Have been a Raider fan since 1969. Other then the years with Gannon as quarterback, we have stunk up the place since the lost to the Bill’s in the playoffs with the score of 51 to 3 in the early 90s! Every other team in the league learns how to adjust except us. Every year I end up saying same Raiders, different year. I love them, but they tear my heart out every year.

Carr is not the problem yes he has some blame i give you that but you can’t put all the blame on him. How about changing the offensive line. I will admit greg olsen is the worst but if you don’t have an offensive line your team is going to be garbage period.the defense is playing their hearts out. this slow start and the quick three and outs is killing me.

This defense isn’t any better. The only thing it’s gotten better in is pass rush and that has nothing to do with Bradley – it was the ngakoue signing. Paul Gunther could put up these numbers…….dead last red zone defense…..bottom 3 in points allowed…..bottom 5 in rushing yards allowed…..still can’t cover a TE……..Bradley can go too……blow it up. We had the lead with 2 min left…. You knew the defense couldn’t hold a backup qb and it didn’t……

Tackling and blocking remain the core problem along with poor unimaginative play calling on both sides of the ball. Pass rush always pushed pass the other team QB. Never bat balls away can’t tackle properly always give up YAC Both passing and catching. Fan since the 60’s poorest attitude I’ve seen from players in a long time. Act like losers.

I blame Mark Davis for the lack of home field advantage. Look around that stadium on Sundays. I’ve never seen such a mixed crowd in the Coliseum in Oakland. The tailgate sucks in Vegas. Too many visiting fans. In Oakland it was an all day block party. In black and silver! And who the hell has lounge seating as a bar in the endzone?? What happened to all the loud, rabid, blue collar fans that would reak hell on the opposing team? Guarantee, do a survey around the league and the Raiders’ “venue” is no longer an intimidating place. It’s just another show in Vegas…….but as long as the visitors are buying up half the seats, Tommy Boy, I mean Mark Davis, still gets his money……

Many of the comments are dead on .I’m a longtime Raiders fan too. Change has to come and no promotions from within. Internal issues are the problem. Blitz and don’t play up tight coverage even a high-school qb could destroy that. Raiders draft choices have been ghastly for too many years . Always drafting developmental players. Draft the best players’ smart players, gym rat players students of the game type players Always studying film types. Linebackers that can cover sideline to sidelines. Too much to list. Certain qbs lick their chops when they’re going to play our defense. Gruden helped destroy us years ago then came back destroyed our team again trading away Cooper and mack . All that and drafted nothing close to replace the speed at wr and one of the best pass rushers in the game. Total nonsense.

He also took the field when he thought you weren’t given your best. Thats all good and fine…Except it does not really seem to translate to the on field DAWG he needs to be… Him and Joe Burrow play the same…and Joe is only in year two. Great talent and talented plays but still making slow processing mistakes! Joe Burrow is not a coward to his core like Derek is though. It starts and ends there!

He did so by scheme play calling and over all understanding and smarts of the game. Maybe it was moving to slow for some of you that were not able to recognize but we all should have been honest knowing we still are one or two years away…..He ripped the team down to the studs and the rebuild was going to be solid as he got more players to buy in come play in Vegas and drafted what he really wanted. We fell apart after gruden and the Ruggs thing finished us. The rest of the coaches could keep them engaged for a few but only John knew how to make this raggedy Carr start and run the machine because it was his baby.
