With Derek Carr expected to miss at least two weeks with a significant back injury, E.J. Manuel and Connor Cook are the only healthy quarterback options on the Raiders roster.
Cook was especially bad in relief of Carr a season ago while Manuel played admirably on Sunday when Carr went down.
The name that many brought immediately was Colin Kaepernick.
Would the Raiders consider signing Kaepernick in relief?
For now at least, the Raiders are not considering Kaepernick or any other free agent quarterback, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
If calamity somehow strikes again (knock on wood), the Raiders would have no choice but to sign a quarterback – and you can bet there would be plenty prepared to critique their decision.

Please do not sign up Kaepernick as backup quarterback.
Please do not sign up Kaepernick as backup quarterback his moral compass is off.
Please sign Colin. He and another local Marshan Lynch would make a perfect match!
The O line has to play better!!!!They are the fuel of the offense.
I wouldn’t mind kaepernick. We have had players kneel or sit for the anthem already. I don’t think it has any effect of on field play. No one can say Connor cook is better than kaepernick.
My thing is getting Kap ready to play.E.J.and the o line has to handle their business.
I agree the O-line needs a kick in the butt from Tice.
