Ravens Go Undisciplined For Hits on Hunter Renfrow (Which is Becoming a Trend For Baltimore)

The Ravens have done it again.

They are the NFL’s darlings when it comes to avoiding punishment from the league and for the second consecutive year, the league is turning a blind eye to their questionable behavior.

This week the Raiders filed a complaint with the league asking them to review illegal hits by the Ravens on Hunter Renfrow. On Saturday, the league announced that the plays were reviewed and no violations of rules were found.

At least two of the hits on Renfrow were picked up by ESPN cameras.

A flag was thrown for another hit…

Now a little context.

Last year, the Ravens were known to have violated the league’s COVID-19 rules as much as any team in the NFL and appeared to conceal close contacts with a COVID-positive player prior to one of their games.

It was the Ravens editorial director who posted a tweet showing Dez Bryant hugging members of the Cowboys prior to a game In December. When the team learned that Bryant had tested positive for COVID-19, the tweet was deleted and no one other than Bryant was removed from the game, despite plenty of evidence of close contact.

The NFL’s response?

Nothing.

Remember it was also last year during the peak of the pandemic that Ravens CB Marcus Peters spit on an opponent during a game. He was fined $12.5K, but didn’t miss a game.

For reference, the league fined Maxx Crosby $21k in 2019 for a routine tackle of Patrick Mahomes.

Raiders Report Mitchell Renz on Twitter: “Here’s the hit the NFL is fining my dude Maxx Crosby over 21k for. Keep doing your thing @CrosbyMaxx, you got #RaiderNation behind you 💪🏻🏴‍☠️pic.twitter.com/WUjCcnVMpI / Twitter”

Why was the penalty and fine so steep?

Well, because the standard for the Raiders is often different than it is for everyone else… and in particular, the Ravens.

  1. Pretty typical of the NFL to decide that no infractions were made on either of those cheap shots on #13. It’s ridiculous, taints the game for the players & fans especially when its so cut & dry.

  2. Then NFL is garbage.
The refs are BETTER at the high school level and the “main office” is so biased that it is not even a real sport any longer – it is all about the money and making sure that curtain teams win and curtain teams lose.
Pro Wrestling officiating is more fair

    1. It has become garbage man. I am slowly losing my desire to watch any of the games, which is sad because I have been a fan since I was about 6yrs old in 1980! It’s just like our government! Toxic…

  3. An NFL team’s treatment is determined by the ownership’s relationship with the commissioner. Roger Goodell has created the most biased, unfair, no-fun league to date.
