Reggie Ragland On The Bubble In Buffalo, Should The Raiders Pounce?

As the Raiders continue to search for answers at linebacker, one of the outside options general manager Reggie McKenzie may soon consider happens to bear his namesake.

After missing his rookie season with a knee injury, former Alabama All-American Reggie Ragland hasn’t made a strong impression on the new Bills coaching staff in his return – to the extent that he’s no lock to make the roster.

A year ago the Raiders were said be intrigued by Ragland, but the Bills scooped him up before the Raiders drafted in the second round. If he becomes available for cheap (albeit with a recovering knee and weight concerns), maybe Ragland is a name the Raiders will consider again.

  1. GO RAIDERS.

GRAB Ragland, and Every Other – Alabama Crimson Tide football player -YOU CAN!!!!!

    JUST WIN BABY!!!

  2. We are so thin at middle linebacker. We should give Ragland a shot if he’s available.

    1. Took the words right out of my mouth brutha. At least give him a shot. He’s gotta be an upgrade from the MLB’s we have!

  3. Sign Ragland if he becomes available, as well as Ahmad Plummer and the ex Ravens linebacker.

  4. #RollTide…Reggie will recover fully from his knee injury and be a Top 5 run stopper in the NFL.

  5. Aquire RAGLAND as soon as he is released. Send a 5th or 6th to the jets for Sheldon to lock up the d-line. Try and get BOWMAN from the 9ers and we are ready to roll.

  6. No thanks…develope the talent we have.
Raglands combine states ” run stuffer with coverage and speed limitations”… His combine 4.72″ 40yd
    116″ broad
    31.5″ very
    Now here Corey James combine
    4.59 40yd
    127″ very
    35″ vertical (similar too K.Mack)
Just like Ragland James is bit short which brings me to Marquel Lee whom like Ragland played Ilb in college where James sparingly did.
    118″ broad
    31.5 very
    4.72 40.
Lee is essentially the same player albeit 3 inches taller and also stronger as he led all lb with 25 bench press reps. Ragland is coming off injury and will have missed all the program Lee and James and Adams, Morrow have had which is crucial considering this is Raglands rookie year. The only reason y’all are hell bent on signing him is his Alabama pedigree. There is a reason majority of league is composed of UDFA and not just bama or SEC football players. Remember you want your MLB to be intelligent and nothing wrong with Bama, but I’ll take the Wake Forest kid to develope in long wrong.

  7. We need a strong mlb who can make defensive signals and adjustments!!! We do not have that player on the roster. Perry Riley was adequate but not elite or average.

  8. Perry Riley Jr. Remains the best outside option since really not outside and he is best available. Dannell ellerbe at right price could be worth a look at as a rotational piece. Kony Ealy may be a guy we could look at. At this point he should come cheap, but it’s already going to be difficult to find roster spots come cut time.

  9. If we can get him on the cheap, sign him. He’s worth a shot. Our defense looks just like last year. Can’t stop the run. Can’t stop the tight ends. Can’t stop the wide recievers! I know it was Dallas and they have a high powered offense. But these are the team’s you MUST BEAT IN THE POST SEASON! He’s worth a shot.

  10. Hmm is anyone else having problems with the images on this blog loading? I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
