Report: Gabe Jackson Suffers Left Knee Injury

UPDATE: Per The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Gabe Jackson is expected to miss 8 weeks with an MCL sprain.

According to the Oakland Tribune’s Jerry McDonald, the initial prognosis for the injury suffered by Raiders offensive guard Gabe Jackson doesn’t look good.

And unfortunately it sounds like it was a knee.

“Gabe Jackson was carted off the practice field late in Thursday’s joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams because of an injury to his left leg,” ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez reported on Thursday afternoon.

“Jackson, who was later seen on crutches and wearing a brace on his left knee, was rolled up on from behind during a live team drill, a few minutes after being involved in a scrap with Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.”

With Richie Incognito suspended for two games and Denzelle Good out after back surgery, the Raiders aren’t in good position at guard. It’s a position Jon Gruden won’t want to play around with, but with the regular season still a month away, there should be time to find and plug in a veteran if Jackson misses significant time.
