Report: Gareon Conley Expected To Return To Practice This Week

Despite not practicing for the past two weeks, Gareon Conley was in uniform on Friday night and participated in a handful of pre-game warmups. He looked healthy on videos that circled the internet and based on a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, it sounds like Conley should return to the practice field on Monday.

The Review-Journal report wasn’t specific (there is some well-crafted wiggle room in there), but it does sound like short of any setbacks, Conley will return on Monday. This is the quote from beat reporter Michael Gehlken:

“Conley looks poised to return for the camp’s final week. It will begin with a Monday practice.”

Initially said to be “at least” a two-week recovery process, Conley has been out since July 27 and a return on Monday would come 17 days after he sustained the initial hip injury.

Even without Conley, the Raiders secondary was fairly stingy against the Lions on Friday night (albeit without Matthew Stafford), only giving up 81 yards on 18 pass attempts from Matt Cassel. This week, the Raiders travel to Los Angeles to face a much more explosive offense in the Rams, who also happen to be the Raiders week one regular season opponent.
