Report: Jaguars “Desperate” to Find Trade For Yannick Ngakoue, Raiders Monitoring

If the Raiders are going to trade for Yannick Ngakoue, it may come down to whether or not the Raiders can make a trade to add a second-round pick.

Despite a report indicating the Raiders are offering pick 19, it seems highly unlikely that the Jaguars will get more than a late first-round pick for Ngakoue – and even that might be a stretch.

Considering the deal his new team would have to give him, Ngakoue’s trade value is more in line with a second-round pick and that value only drops as his crusade to leave Jacksonville gains momentum. The Jaguars understand Ngakoue’s trade value will drop in the next 36 hours and that’s why a report on Thursday described Jacksonville as “desperate” to find a trade partner for him.

The Athletic’s Vic Tafur believes the Jaguars and Raiders haven’t talked a lot about compensation yet and that might be because the Raiders don’t currently own the pick they would consider sending to Jacksonville for Ngakoue.

If Mike Mayock can find a way back into the second round of the draft, Ngakoue becomes a much more realistic option for the Raiders – at least that’s the way things look from the outside.
