Could the Raiders be kicking around the idea of adding Adrian Peterson?
According to an ESPN report this week, there is reason to believe they might.
“I’m told three teams called Peterson’s reps to at least inquire about where he’s at,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Saturday. “Peterson wants to get to work right away. Multiple league execs believe the Las Vegas Raiders could be a sizable option for him because they have Josh Jacobs in the running back spot and he could back him up. Peterson could play some power football for Jon Gruden.”
League executives come up with all kinds of nonsense and this isn’t exactly a firm report. But it’s entirely possible that Jon Gruden would be intrigued by a player like Peterson, especially in the wake of the Lynn Bowden Jr. trade.
For what it’s worth, Peterson was reportedly lobbying to join the Raiders in 2017, but the Raiders chose to sign Marshawn Lynch instead.
Maybe this time around AP will get his shot?
