Report: NaVorro Bowman’s Agent To Meet With Raiders In Orlando

The Raiders would like to bring back middle linebacker NaVorro Bowman next year and the process of re-signing him has been dragging out for a while.

But a decision could be coming soon.

According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, the Raiders are meeting with Bowman’s agent this week in Orlando and it’s possible a deal could get done.

Bowman has reportedly been shopping around a previous offer by the Raiders and some have suggested that the 29 year-old linebacker may decide to wait and see what interest opens up closer to the season.

Occasionally, veterans will use free agency to take a summer away from offseason activities, but the fact that Bowman’s agent is meeting with the Raiders now means Bowman is probably interested in speeding the process along.

It sure feels like Bowman’s return to the Raiders is trending hard in the direction of “very likely” at this point.

  1. Well, he’s 1 draft away from being replaced and forgotten altogether. He might think he has the upper hand with the Raiders, but McKenzie has already shown that he’ll take his chances late in the draft with linebackers, so……………

    1. …and those drafted linebackers have not been very good. I like Morrow, but the ceiling is low on the rest of them. I’ll admit that Navarro is no longer in his prime physically, but his football acumen and leadership on defense can’t be found in the draft or free agency. He is better than anyone we currently have signed. Signing him will make him the best linebacker we’ve had in 10 years, maybe longer…

  2. We need Navorro. If he resigns that free us up to draft Vita Vea at #10. He is a game changer! His push up the middle will allow Mack and Irvin to FEED! They will have to double this kid on all four downs! If not I don’t know. LB is tipically not an impact position unless you’re LT! And as great as Smith is he’s not LT. Maybe Trumaine Edmunds will turn out to be though? We can get a MLB in the draft next year. Or in free agency.

  3. I’d like to see Bowman come back so we can draft Vita Vea. He’s not too far away from being better than Suh. He’s huge, with speed and strength….and very destructive.
