More changes are coming to the Raiders. This time to the personnel department.
According a Sporting News report, a front office overhaul is in the works in Oakland now that the draft is over.
The changes aren’t expected to involve general manager Reggie McKenzie, but the Raiders personnel department is preparing for significant turnover.
From the Sporting News report:
“It’s believed the Raiders will be adding at least one new personnel executive to their front office. There also are rumblings in league circles that Raiders player personnel director Joey Clinskscales will be moving on, with Cleveland as a potential destination.”
The Raiders draft was said to have gone smoothly, but there were disagreements between coaches and scouts that weren’t particularly familiar with each other.
The Athletic’s Vic Tafur also reported that the Raiders had two separate draft boards and never carried out a mock draft (though Gruden could very well have quietly executed his own).
If nothing else, the new scouting department and staff should at least hammer out a singular draft board for next season.
The dual draft board idea surely won’t be trending anytime soon.
