Report: Raiders’ Asking Price for Jakobi Meyers Too High

Is Jakobi Meyers going to be traded before the November 4 trade deadline?

The Raiders are open to trading Meyers, but according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, their asking price for Meyers has been considered too high.

“The Raiders have fielded calls from the Steelers and Bills on WR Jakobi Meyers, but Las Vegas has set a high price. Pittsburgh is looking at other wide receiver options, too,” Russini reported on Saturday.

Meyers has apparently made “multiple” trade requests, but based on a report this week from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Raiders want at least a third-round pick for Meyers.

“Las Vegas has received interest in the seven-year veteran, and my sense is the Raiders want a strong pick for Meyers. A swap of Day 3 picks won’t do at this stage,” Fowler said. “Several teams are believed to be in the receiver market, most notably the Steelers and possibly the Broncos and Bills.”

On Friday, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer acknowledged what several beat writers covering the Raiders have said for a while.

The compensatory pick formula is hurting Meyers’ chances of being traded.

“There haven’t been many calls on [Meyers]. With his deal up, he could bring more in a 2027 comp pick than a ’25 trade,’” Breer said.

As the deadline gets closer it will he interesting to see if the Raiders or Steelers budge, but for now it sounds like someone is going to have to give up a third-round pick for Meyers or wait until the offseason to try and sign him as a free agent.
