After sustaining a rash of injuries at safety on Sunday, the Raiders intend to re-sign safety, Taylor Mays. The former second-round pick reportedly flew into Alameda last night and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is expected to immediately start in place of Charles Woodson.

Schefter said Mays was also mulling an offer from the Seattle Seahawks who continue to be without disgruntled Pro Bowl safety, Kam Chancellor.
Once he is signed, Mays will join Larry Asante and rookie Keenan Lambert as the only healthy safeties on the Raiders’ active roster. Undrafted rookie, Tevin McDonald, is on the practice squad and could also be called up. Albeit against backups, McDonald was given a +4.0 rating from ProFootballFocus in preseason – good for fourth-best on the Oakland defense.
