Free agency doesn’t get underway for another two weeks but it feels like the door is mostly closed on the ever-popular ‘Brady to Vegas’ rumors.
The more likely scenario has always been that the Raiders would add a solid veteran backup to compete with Derek Carr and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo says that quarterback could end up being Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Mariota will be hard-pressed to find a starting job in the offseason and Garafolo pointed out that Mariota was actually Mike Mayock’s top-rated quarterback going into the 2015 draft.
Mariota is only 26 years old and has a good relationship with Carr. If any “veteran” were to join the Raiders quarterback room, Mariota could very well be the best fit.
Whatever the case, look for more headlines in the days ahead to separate the Raiders from Brady. The idea doesn’t make a lot of sense from either standpoint and a good amount of the storyline has undoubtedly been fueled by Brady’s representation. The Mariota idea, on the other hand, makes a lot of sense for everyone involved.
Everyone, that is, except Nathan Peterman.

I would love to see Marcus come to the Raiders ., He would make for a great back up for Derek Carr …He is capable to come off the bench , Strong , durable and the Raiders could have another Heisman Trophy winner on the roster . A perfect Raider move in their Commitment to excellence ! I think Coach Al Davis would agree …
