According to a report on Tuesday, Le’Veon Bell has narrowed his choices in free agency down to six teams and it appears the Raiders have dropped out of the mix. The teams listed by ESPN’s Josina Anderson are Buffalo, Houston, Green Bay, Baltimore, Indianapolis, and the New York Jets.
The Raiders were considered one of the front runners as of Monday morning, but that was before a spending spree over the next 12 hours that may have pushed Oakland out of the race for Bell.
There had been indications that the Raiders were going to tread lightly in free agency, but Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock were anything but passive on day one of the unofficial start of free agency. Players can be officially signed on March 13 at 4:00 PM ET.
As for Bell, it appears he won’t be headed to any team in the AFC West, so that’s a good thing. The next most sought after running back in free agency figures to be former Falcons running back Tevin Coleman. Lower on the list of free agent options are also Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin, with the latter pretty likely to end up back with the Raiders.

If we don’t get Bell I hope we resign Lynch and then draft someone like Jacobs. Still need linebacker and defensive line.
I don’t believe we need Bell, even tho he is a good RB. We just draft us a good RB to go with what we have. I’ve been a Raider fan for over 50 years and I’ve never seen such great moves that we are making this year. I’ll tell you I’m Stoked!!! I think that Ma Holms kid woke up some teams. GO RAIDERS !!!
Doug Martin? Cmon not again……Theres better younger backs that you dont have to use a high pick on. How about the kid that was placed on injured reserve all year. lets see what hes got in year two. Beastmode can also get a few carries if he’s healed up.
