Raiders Asking Price for Maxx Crosby Revealed by Adam Schefter?

Trade rumors have been intensifying around Maxx Crosby for weeks, and it’s starting to feel like the odds are against him being with the Raiders next year.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport called it a “complicated situation” between Crosby and the Raiders right now, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone

“I was told that the Raiders don’t want to trade [Maxx Crosby], and if they even contemplated it, then it would take a Micah Parsons type package,” Schefter told ESPN’s 97.5 The Fanatic.

“That’s what I was told. Do I think they are getting two firsts and a player? No. Do I think they want to trade him? No. Do I think he’ll be traded like AJ Brown [could be]? That’ll change by the week… Any deal involving Maxx Crosby, I would think for the Raiders to make that deal, would take a first-round pick at minimum.”

Prior to the 2025 season, the Packers sent Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks (2026, 2027) to the Cowboys for Parsons, and there doesn’t seem to be many who believe the compensation for Crosby would be in the same ballpark.

FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer, who kicked off the trade rumors around Crosby ahead of the Super Bowl, said he thought it would take “at least” what the Cowboys got for Parsons to get Crosby, but Rapoport thinks Crosby’s value will be significantly lower.

“It’s not going to be Micah Parsons [compensation] because [Parsons] was younger,” Rapoport said two weeks ago on Raider Nation Radio’s Unnecessary Roughness with Q Myers.

“But, you know, a late [first round pick] would be real. Because the Raiders, thankfully, were bad enough, they don’t have to trade to get up to [the first pick]. They got it. It’s all just capital. If that’s what it was, they’re not going to replace Maxx Crosby, even if they hit on a great pass rusher, they’re still not going to replace him. What you do it, you replace him with a player and then use the money to go get other good players and really build up the foundation of the team. For sure you could make an argument that trading him makes sense.”

For better or worse, it could be a while before we get answers on Crosby’s future because it might be another month or two before he can pass a physical.

“[Meniscus repair] is usually months, not weeks. So I don’t think he would be cleared to get traded in March… unless somebody wanted to take a leap of faith,” Rapoport said this week. “So you’re probably looking at more [like] the draft or around August for a possible trade. And then [the Raiders] promoted his position coach to defensive coordinator to which one person very involved in the situation said to me ‘The plot thickens.’ So it’s very, very complicated as to where this goes.”

Crosby has downplayed trade rumors, but the three biggest insiders in the industry (Glazer, Schefter and Rapoport) have all hinted that something could be coming.

Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter talked about Crosby’s situation two weeks ago, and he seemed to suggest some of Crosby’s frustration came from the way the team communicated with him during the final two weeks of the season.

“I can tell you this. Jay Glazer talked about it yesterday about how angry Maxx was. I can you that is 100 percent accurate and there is a lot of details that if Maxx is traded, I’m going to give you about the process. How he found out, how he responded. There was a lot of anger in the building not just from Maxx,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.

“There were other people that were very upset and angry at how Maxx found out about the benching. All of it. I didn’t get into it at the time. Just like I didn’t get into a lot… before the preseason game with Davante [Adams],” Carpenter continued. “But if Maxx is moved and I believe it’s a higher chance that he is than he comes back, I will absolutely go into those details. There’s no reason to do it while he’s in the building. That would not be fair to him or all parties involved. But once he’s gone it won’t matter.”

“I think it lends to understanding the disfunction that has been around the Raiders and all of it. I supported the Raiders sitting Maxx. How they did it was terrible and that’s part of the learning curve that this franchise is going through right now.”

  1. a first round pick? A late first round pick? LMAO……… how about two firsts in a second? And a blue chip player.
And put that in writing so all you soapbox riders can quit talking about all the teams that want him and what it’ll take to get him.
Cause honestly, as some others have said already, the whole Crosby trade rhetoric is older than a two week old carp sitting in the sun.

  2. I am so sick and tired of reading about Maxx Crosby and a trade, It is all the podcasters and so called sports reporters that continually write about this everyday! Max said he has no plans on leaving, works hard every day at the
raiders facility, The front office said NO to trading him, Coach said he spoke with max and was looking forward to working with him! I’m starting to think all these podcasters and sports reporters do not have anything else to talk about! Please, move on to some other stories, you have beaten this horse to death already!!!

  3. Maxx is a known player, draft picks can be great or Tyree Wilson/ Cle Ferrell. I don’t trade Maxx for anything less than Parsons. Maxx is a better player, more impact in the run game. TFL ect. The greatness of the Raiders is the future, I hope it includes Maxx. What a bad time to leave, when thing have a chance to get better.
