Since it was announced that Jon Gruden would be coaching the Raiders, one of the popular assumptions has been that Gruden’s personality would not jive particularly well with Marshawn Lynch.
But that may not be the case.
NFL Network’s Mike Silver, one of the few who claim to know both Gruden and Lynch very well, believes the two might actually be perfect for each other.
“Those two don’t know each other very well or at least didn’t going in. I know both of them very well,” Silver said Wednesday on 95.7 The Game.
“I think Jon Gruden and Marshawn Lynch are really similar, like I think it could be an awesome marriage. They’re both kind of crazy, they’re both insanely competitive, they give a combined zero you-know-whats about what anyone else thinks. I feel like just knowing them as well as I do, it really could work well and I really want it to.”
As of now, the Raiders and Lynch are open to the idea of a reunion in 2018, but there is still a lot to be determined.
The first indication of where the situation might be headed will come on or before March 18 when the Raiders will owe Lynch $1 million for being on the roster.
