Sounds Like the Raiders Should Assume Carson Wentz Will be the Colts Quarterback on Sunday

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Raiders may as well prepare to face Carson Wentz on Sunday.

“It’s really no longer like ‘does Carson Wentz get cleared?’ Rapoport said on the Pat McAfee Show.

“His five days are going to be up on Sunday morning. Assuming he’s not horribly sick, your symptoms don’t even have to go away. They just have to have decreased and you have to get cleared by a doctor. So we’re going to see Carson. He doesn’t need a negative test. We are going to see him on Sunday.”

For the Raiders, this is the second time in two weeks that the league has changed COVID-19 protocols when it looked like the Raiders were going to benefit from the rules that were agreed to prior to the season.

At the start of the season, the league pressured it’s players to take COVID-19 vaccines by laying out huge advantages to the players that received them. Now in week 17, a player like Carson Wentz, who is unvaccinated, can return to the field just five days after testing positive and doesn’t even need to be symptom-free.

For what it’s worth, the most significant difference now between vaccinated and unvaccinated players is that vaccinated players generally aren’t tested unless they self-report symptoms. Unvaccinated players are still tested every day. Vaccinated players can also test out of quarantine before five days. Unvaccinated players cannot test out before five days which makes little or no sense at all.

And one final thought…

If the league isn’t concerned about players playing in games with symptoms, what are the odds that players will be inclined to report mild symptoms – especially if it will impact their game status?

There seems to be an understanding that COVID-19 is unavoidably making it’s way through every locker room in the NFL. If the league is fine with turning a blind eye toward some of it, expect many of the players to do the same.

  1. Entonces para que tanto anuncio de si estas vacunaso o no de tpdas maneras hacen lo que quieren como la vedeteA Rogers que gace su circo y los bufones le aolauden

  2. I know it probably signs cliche, but our mistreatment by the league is nothing new. Al Davis sued the league over his moving the team to LA and won! The NFL has never forgotten that and they stick it to us every chance they get! The problem is that in a situation like this, of course we would benefit from Carson Wentz not playing; of course it would help Derek Carr get a chance to be in the playoffs for the first time in his career and the Raiders organization would finally catch a break… but NO! Just like when the league rescheduled the Cleveland game, they will do everything in their power to subtly sock it to us, even if it requires obvious disregard for the proper procedure!

  3. typical godoll,,,anything to help RAIDERS LOSE he’ll throw at them ,Al knew it all to well, why Raiders have always had to play Rough football, not a secret, referees NOT CALLED PENALTIES FOR RAIDERS, ALWAYS CALLED EVERY LITTLE SNIPE AGAINST RAIDERS, LONG STANDING TRADITION NFL DOESN’T WANT RAIDERS TO WIN, ALWAY BEEN BOUNTY OUT FOR RAIDERS , THIS YR NO DIFF. ITS TIME FANS FIGHT BACK ANGAINST SISSY TEAMS, MAN UP, TAKE OUT THEIR QB, RECIEVER, KICKER, THEY’LL DO IT, GRUDENS GONE, BRADY HIS CHEATING, STILL PLAYING, KRAFT HIS ASAIN MASSAGE PARLOR SHENANIGANS STILL THERE NO CONSEQUENCES , RAIDERS BLOW NOSE WRONG THATS A FINE…..HISTORY SHOWS NFL HATES RAIDERS. TIME TO “JUST WIN BABY” ANYWAY YOU CAN

    1. We can save all the excuses. The game against the Colts is a playoff game in essence. If the Raiders lose they can pack it in. If they win the real playoffs prospects looks good.
Therefore, whether the Colts start Carson Wentz or Johnny Unitas the Raiders have to
win. Let us all watch Derek Carr, and his performance in this game. All the D. Carr lovers have “No” more excuses, it’s time to fish or cut bait.

  4. Been this way since Jesus was in knickers! The tuck rule game removed all doubt that they will do absolutely anything and everything to screw over the Raiders! Roger has to go and the NFL needs to be blown up and revamped and start over with full time Refs that don’t have second jobs and not 100 years old! F@CK Roger Goodel and the NFL!
