The curious case of Trent Brown’s injured calf muscle took another turn on Tuesday, this time for the better.
Or at least that’s the way it seems right now.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Brown received good news from an MRI on his leg and hasn’t been ruled out for Monday’s home opener against the Saints. The Oakland Tribune’s Jerry McDonald reported a little later that Brown is not expected to be place on injured reserve and that should be a good indication that the Raiders don’t feel like Brown is a candidate to miss more than two games.
But after Jon Gruden’s press conference on Monday, it’s fair to wonder if the team and Brown aren’t completely on the same page with his injury. There has been something odd about Brown’s injury from the start and it’s hard to imagine there isn’t another chapter coming to the story.
In looking at the way the injury (or re-injury) happened on Sunday, what’s to keep a similar setback from happening this week?

Doesn’t look like a sequence that should knock a player out of the game, right?
Some would argue that Brown doesn’t necessarily have the most “team before self” mentality as a player, so it will be interesting to see if he and the Raiders share the same timeline for his return… whatever that may be.

One thing is for certain, the Raiders NEED Trent Brown to be healthy if they are going to achieve a winning record this year.
Go earn your money 💰…we don’t need another Jabustus Russell on this Raider team ☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
