Three Things to Know About Raiders Rookie Wide Receiver Jack Bech

Las Vegas Raiders fans hope to turn the page in 2025 after a few tumultuous seasons that have fallen short of expectations.

Even though the preseason NFL odds don’t project the Raiders to finish at the top of the AFC West or make the postseason, there are many reasons to be excited for the future. Brock Bowers is already an all-world performer at tight end, and Las Vegas fans are hoping that rookie wide receiver Jack Bech will become part of a young offensive core.

Let’s get to know Bech better as he endears himself to the Silver & Black…

He played at LSU

LSU has been a factory for producing big-time NFL wide receiver talent. They’ve sent players like Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas to the NFL, all of whom have made names for themselves as some of the best playmakers in the league.

It’s almost impossible to ignore a pass catcher who comes from the school anymore, which is why Bech deserves to be on the radar for Raiders fans.

To be clear, Bech didn’t spend his entire collegiate career playing for LSU. He spent his first- and second-year student seasons in Baton Rouge, where he caught 59 passes over two seasons. Bech spent the final two seasons of his college career at TCU. He had an explosive senior season, catching 62 passes for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns. Las Vegas hopes this pedigree and late-career collegiate production will translate into great things on the professional level.

Bech has NFL bloodlines.

Bech isn’t the first person in his family to reach the NFL. His uncle Brett was a wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints for three years in the late 1990s. Brett Bech’s best season came in 1998, when he caught 14 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns.

Jack Bech has other family members who have been noted for their athleticism. His grandfather, Malcholm, was a track and field star at Southeastern Louisiana. Bech’s other uncle, Blaine, was an LSU wide receiver from 2000 to 2003.

Bech’s brother is watching over him.

Bech had to deal with unexpected heartache at the beginning of 2025.

His brother Tiger, was killed in a New Orleans terrorist attack when a truck barreled down Bourbon Street. It’s been an emotional time for Jack Bech, as he tried to honor his brother’s best by continuing his football dreams in the NFL.

Jack Bech is motivated by the tragedy that struck his family, believing that Tiger’s presence will always accompany him throughout his football journey and for the rest of his life. Tiger Bech was a former football player who played collegiately at Princeton. He logged 10 catches for 186 yards and a touchdown during the 2018 season.

For one final mini fact, Jack Bech’s surname is pronounced “Besh”, which will become a less of a secret as he gets more playing time with the Raiders.
