Trade Rumors Intensifying around Marvin Harrison Jr.

Raiders trade for Marvin Harrison Jr.?

If the Raiders want him, Harrison Jr. will soon be on the move

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s days with the Cardinals are numbered, and the expectation is that he will be with a new team by this time next week.

The NFL trade deadline isn’t for another month, but there are a handful of teams that value Harrison now and would prefer to have him for the month of October.

Initially, it was rumored that Harrison’s trade value would be a premium day-three draft pick, but the belief today is that Arizona is looking for at least a second-round pick for their former first-round pick.

For as unproductive and injury prone as Harrison has been, it’s hard to imagine a team giving up a second-round pick for him, but you never know. A lot of teams had Harrison as the top wide receiver on their draft boards in 2024, so there could still be a few teams enamored with his potential coming out of college.

Are the Raiders in the mix for Harrison Jr.?

According to longtime Denver media personality Benjamin Allbright, the Raiders are among four teams that have called the Cardinals about Harrison – with the others being the Colts, Chiefs and Texans.

Later on Saturday, Houston insider Aaron Wilson reported that the Chiefs and Colts will not be trading for Harrison.

If both reports are accurate, it sounds like the Raiders and Texans might be firmly in the mix for Harrison, with Pro Football Talk suggesting this morning that Houstin is believed to be the front runner to land him.

There hasn’t been a lot reported on the Raiders potential interest in Harrison, but something to remember is that John Spytek operates with as much stealth as any GM in the league.

If the Raiders were ‘all in’ on Harrison, we most likely wouldn’t know about it.

Where will Harrison Jr. end up?

There is rumored to be a mystery team in the mix for MHJ, but that story could be the Cardinals just trying to drum up interest.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be a surprise to learn the Raiders are in the mix for Harrison. If we’ve learned anything in the first four weeks of the season, it’s that the Raiders don’t have a true no. 1 wide receiver and the pipe dream of drafting Jeremiah Smith is getting more unlikely with every win.

If Spytek and Tom Brady are trying to figure out a way to bring Harrison to the desert, they would absolutely be the types to keep their interest quiet.

According to league insider Jordan Schultz, the team expected to trade for Harrison has requested that they not be revealed until after the weekend and that definitely sounds like a maneuver the Raiders would lean into in a situation like this.

  1. Houston is the only confirmed team to have been in negotiations for him. Reportedly, Arizona is asking for a 2027 2nd round pick. Houston reportedly offered a 2028 2nd. So where would that leave the Raiders?
