Insider Floats WR to “Keep an Eye On” for the Raiders

While the Raiders are trying to make up their mind on what Jakobi Meyers is worth, they appear to be in the market for another veteran wide receiver, and according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vinny Bonsignore, there might be one to watch.

Bonsignore hinted over the weekend the Raiders might have interest in veteran wide receiver Tyler Boyd, who last played for the Tennessee Titans.

In Tennessee last year, Boyd tallied 39 receptions for 390 yards and at 30 years-old, might still have something to offer to a team like the Raiders who simply need a little veteran depth at the position.

As for Meyers, 28, he has clearly emerged as the Raiders’ no. 1 wide receiver and put up 8 receptions for 97 yards against the Patriots on Sunday.

Every indication is that Meyers plans to play out the final year on his contract in 2025 and he will be in line for a significant payday if he stays healthy and continues to perform the way he did on Sunday.

  1. Pretty obvious that Meyer’s is our best WR, by a long shot. It doesn’t reflect well on the GM that we haven’t resigned him to an extension. He’ll probably bail after this season.

  2. Exactly, because of the rook wrs we can’t afford to lose Meyer. He gets open, consistently, more than any other wr. A team will pay him his worth at the FA period.

    1. Spytek and crew are being stubborn. They drafted Jack Bech in the 2nd with the intention of him being Jacobi’s replacement. Now that they see just how good and valuable he is, they should offer him a really fair contract. Lock him up and proceed with Bech being his back up. The struggle their having is spending a 2nd pick on a back up.

  3. Well said. I hope Raider fans realize that if Bowers goes down with an injury, looks like he’s limited right now, and they trade Meyers the season will be lost. Especially with this non-existent running attack. Maybe Mayers is asking for too much $?

  4. Myers needs to be resigned. Bowers is a TE, without good wideouts, his routes will be clamped down. Myers is a good route runner with an outstanding catch rate.
