2020 Draft: Day 2 Targets

Raiders ending up going wide receiver-cornerback on Day 1, but perhaps not the combination of players that many thought. Scroll through my timeline for instant reactions, and be on the lookout for a full draft “scorecard” when all is said and done.

For now, entering Day 2, the Raiders currently do not hold a second-round selection. Do they move up? Or do they stay where they are, and go back-to-back at 80 and 81 (then again at 91). Here’s who I’m thinking may be hanging around, and obviously players that I would select:

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma): Is it time?

He’s the only one worth noting, really.

Running Back

Too early for my taste. Check back on Day 3.

Wide Receiver

Bryan Edwards (South Carolina): Would complete the Raiders’ wide receiver room revamp; Edwards is one of the more talented players in a deep group, just got hit with some poor injury luck.

Chase Claypool (Notre Dame): Perhaps a tight end for many.

Lynn Bowden Jr. (Kentucky): Dynamic king.

Devin Duvernay (Texas)

Donovan Peoples-Jones (Michigan)

Van Jefferson (Florida)

Defensive Line

Justin Madubuike (Texas A&M)

James Lynch (Baylor)

Jason Strowbridge (North Carolina)

Jordan Elliott (Missouri): Likely off the board to start Day 2.

Linebacker

Akeem Davis-Gaither (Appalachian State): One of my favorite players in the class.

Willie Gay Jr. (Mississippi State)

Logan Wilson (Wyoming)

Cornerback

Cam Dantzler (Mississippi State)

Amik Robertson (Louisiana Tech.): Cover boy, and #good player.

Safety

Jeremy Chinn (Southern Illinois): Likely gone in the 50’s

Ashytn Davis (California, Berkeley): Also figures to be an early-Day 2 pick.

Kyle Dugger (Lenoir-Rhyne)

Terrell Burgess (Utah)

  1. If available I would take:
WR Claypool Has plenty of speed to be a WR (Should draft him and trade Williams)
    DT James Lynch (Baylor)
    LB Willie Gay (Mississippi State)
    RB Jason Huntley (New Mexico)
