March Madness is finally here and Tom Brady is here to challenge college basketball for the biggest storyline in North American sports this month.
Let’s make three strong predictions for the Raiders (and Brady) in the few weeks ahead…
Expect a strong emphasis on defense in free agency from the Raiders.
The only real need in Jon Gruden’s offense is wide receiver and there aren’t many WR options in free agency that can move the needle. The Raiders have been rumored to be interested in Robby Anderson, but they might not make a big push for him. Maybe a veteran running back joins the mix, but no significant move at receiver for Gruden. The offense is legitimately set everywhere else.
Tom Brady won’t be the Raiders quarterback a month from now.
Not because the Raiders aren’t poking around. They apparently are.
It isn’t coincidence that the Raiders are always on the “list” of possibilities for Brady, but no one is predicting that he ends up in Las Vegas. That’s because the Raiders aren’t going to be his best option and as long as they are thinking clearly, the Raiders shouldn’t view Brady as their best option, either.
That isn’t to say a team might not throw an offer at the Raiders for Carr that they can’t resist… but it is to say that Brady isn’t coming to Vegas.
Right now the Raiders have a little more than $50 million in cap space, but once they finish flexing their muscles in free agency, they are going to need more. Expect Gruden to wave goodbye to or adjust a few contracts (Gabe Jackson comes to mind) in order to make room for all the new faces in Vegas.
A couple new linebackers and big time cornerback to get things started. A D-lineman to close out the smorgasbord.

I really feel that Carr is our man for the job but remember the raider team needs to meet him half ways. Give carr some recivers and just maybe the raiders can win some games oh and ofcourse carr needs to run and focus on other players that are open. Im a Raider fan for ever. Papa. G. Mediocre player with top tier pay. Derek Carr makes many of us have no hope when he is playing QB. He should go play for the Detroit Lions in a draft order trade with us. The Lions do not go to the playoffs, they don’t ever expect to and they love stats. “Detroit Derek” would sound great to me. Besides no team in NfL history has ever kept a starter for their 7th year with the past 5 out of the 6 past season have all been losing seasons. The 1 season we made the playoffs was 4 years ago. Enough!

Yes. Defense wide receivers. Late round OL maybe. If we can land four top players from the draft. I would be happy. Trade up and get those players.

I’d like to see us get Lamb at 12 and Queen at 19. In the 3rd round ABC and an offensive tackle to replace Walker. If Simmons is on the board at 8 I’d offer Arizona 13 and 81 to swap picks.
I don’t see Queen being better than Murray. Look at their stats over their final year, then the entire college career. Then, look at the combine testing. I see Murray as the better LB. Queen is getting rave scores for the last part of his last year. Makes ya go “huh?”

Brady is definitely not the Raiders best choice ,that being said I don’t think Carr is QB we need to build a team for a champion ship much less a dynasty ,,Just have to wait and see who and how the draft ,,,

Get what’s on free agent first and get the rest in draft receivers first then linebackers
Carr is a solid QB, I just wish he would try to extend plays with his legs a little more. WR in the draft, plenty of good players this year.

Carr stinks.. No heart and is one of the dumbest qb’s… We’ll never win with him… I’d take Bridgewater and build around him b4 Carr.. The defense got worse as the season went on but a lot of that was the offense not moving the ball.. Jets game..jags game..KC game.. Broncos game.. Tennessee game.. Second half of the games the offense was invisible
I believe that Darick Carr is the best choice now to continue to be the Raiders Quarterback, i am very glad that he is a Raider! I am hoping that CeeDee Land gets drafted by the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft, then to focus on the Defensive side!

We need DB, DL,WR & OL & we have to remember that just cuz their good in college don’t mean a thing once they hit the field in the NFL. U CAN DRAFT ‘EM BUT IT’S A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME. EXPERIENCE IS ALWAYS DA BEST. 3 of our last QB drafts r proof of all I said!
We had all the pieces 2 yr. ago & sucked anyway. We should be at least a playoff cotingent & AFC WEST champion challenger. There has been no excuse for 500 or less season in the last 3 yrs. Period! IAM a RAIDER 4 LIFE regardless.

By the way Carr is in the top 3–4 possible semi- mobile QB’s by far in the NFL. THERE IS NO REASON TO GET RID OF HIM PERIOD. If u listen to those who are calling RAIDER main office shots. That’s the fact as they say. Carr is going to be very difficulty to find better than.
Bring Cooper back & draft a good WR…find a decent QB in free agency (not Winston!!!) if Carr struggles…fix the Defense (50 mil in cap space get a couple of top tier CB or LB)
