Aldon Smith Is Reportedly Behind In Making Child Support Payments

Aldon Smith is back in the news again.

Fortunately, this time it isn’t for substance abuse issues, but it does involve legal matters.

According to TMZ, Smith is $79,000 behind in child support payments and the suspended Raiders linebacker says he has no income to keep up with financial responsibilities to the mother of his 5 year-old son – which reportedly involves paying $9,007 per month in child support.

The report suggested Smith is still living a “lavish lifestyle” away from football, but added that it’s possible the Raiders troubled linebacker could be reinstated in the next couple months.

A return to football sounds like pure speculation, but it’s possible Smith has been cleaning up his act while out of the spotlight.

Smith has been out of football since November of 2015 and it’s unclear what his status with the Raiders will be now that Jon Gruden is in the building.

A report from Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole in September of 2017 suggested Smith had been very inconsistent in his rehabilitation process. It’s been six months since Cole’s report and this is the first time Smith’s name has surfaced in the news since.
