Another Raiders Star Hit With a DUI on Monday Morning

After the situation involving Henry Ruggs in October, you’d expect the Raiders to be the last team in the NFL to deal with another DUI anytime soon.

But here we are, less than three months after the Ruggs tragedy and the Raiders have another player booked for a DUI.

This time rookie cornerback Nate Hobbs.

The following message was issued on Monday afternoon by the Las Vegas Metro Police…

The full details of Hobbs’ arrest will eventually come to light, but it will be interesting to see how the Raiders handle his situation. The Raiders released Ruggs within 24 hours of his fatal DUI crash, but the circumstances around Hobbs arrest are obviously a lot different.

Irresponsible and inexcusable. But still a lot different.

As an aside… what in the world is wrong with the Raiders this year?

How can so many people tied to one organization make so many stupid decisions in such a short period of time?

    1. get plane from indy and no body drive these guys home, wtf, ever hear of chaperone , babysitter, dont forget they have million dollars in pocket, how many dirtbags in vegas want a pc, how many care what happens to them, its sincity

  1. How can they arrest him for drunk driving when he wasn’t driving? He’d done the smart thing—realized he was too drunk to drive and pulled over. Sounds like the dumb part was that he chose an exit ramp for his nap. I want to know what these guys are doing driving around at 4 in the AM. They are adults, and they must be responsible for themselves. You’d think that Ruggs’ situation would give a reality check about consequences but apparently not.

    1. Because all he needs to do is:
      1) be over the limit
      2) have the keys either in the ignition or anywhere within his reach.
      3) yes you can get a DUI if you have possession of the keys to the vehicle that you’re sleeping in while trying to sleep it off.
      4) he should have found the closest parking spot and popped the trunk and hid them in the trunk. If he did that they would have left him alone.
      5) learn the DUI laws before you speak on something you obviously don’t know about besides driving drunk.

    2. He didnt do responsinle thing n pull over. U must b mentally challenged. A responsible thing is not drinking when driving or at least not driving if u drink. Wow u must b a vaxd person. Lmao

    3. if keys are in ignition, your operating vehicle, great lawyer get it thrown out, in six months, hold his hand stat treating all rookies like effin two yr olds

  2. Sad . . Raiders should have never moved to that sh!t hole Vegas! They should have stayed in Oakland or moved to San Diego where they always outdrew fans as the visiting team!

    1. Exactly what I’ve been saying since they decided to make the move to LV. But, money will always blind this generation of NLF club owners. Not to mention the current Commish!

    2. You’re exactly right Kent. What did Mark Davis expect when he moved his team to the city that never sleeps…
He was asking for nothing but trouble and he’s starting to get it. Pretty soon we won’t have a team to field besides Waller and Crosby.

  3. I agree actually he did a more responsible thing and stopped driving. However, the players need to know when they drink in excess not to get behind the wheel and call Raiders org. For a ride. They should reduce the charge to something more minor and hit him with a significant fine as an example to rest of players.

  4. Stupid error by undisciplined kid! It was one game, not the playoffs or Super Bowl. He had 3 tackles vs Colts and you seen the back of his jersey all day vs Chiefs – both games. Suspend him, fine him and cut him. He’s no great player like Perryman#52. The LV Raiders need new defensive backs and safeties because Abrams is done like Hobbs. He takes playing pro ball for granted. Case closed.

    1. I believe that football players have a god complex. It’s not just the Raiders. As it is they get away with Rape Murder abusing girlfriends and wives etc… until we start holding players responsible for their actions like everyday people they will keep acting like spoiled rich kids. Stop putting them on a pedestal. They are rich human beings that believe they can do anything they want. Which BTY they can. As far as I’m c9ncerned men and w9men 8m the forces deserve t9 make the millions of dollars because they sacrifice their bodies and minds to fight for our country and barely make enough to survive yet because these players have talent with a football and are entertaining us they make millions and get treated like they walk on water. They also get the best drs, lawyers and are praised as if they are heros. Tell me that they deserve it more than our veterans.

  5. It’s very irresponsible but it’s Las Vegas the City that never sleeps. It’s always one big party there. And it’s the worse place to have a NFL team! Hobbs is a rookie so he’s like just barely able to legally drink. What did Mark Davis expect when he moved the team? Didn’t he do any research or did he just move the team because he found a city that was willing to put the money out for a NFL franchise?
Someone needs to make big rules that carry big fines and suspension. If they cut everyone who gets a DUI we won’t be able to field a team. Set them down with Waller and Crosby, maybe they’ll learn something.

  6. Raiders screwing up is a reflection on their coaching staff and organization. These players are all adults and know what is expected of them in way of moral conduct on and off the Titans field. Las Vegas being their new home, where this city never sleeps, demands discipline from owner to coaches and from coaches down to players. An undisciplined owner and coach will breed undisciplined players. This organization better sets some new rules down and follow up with some hefty fines for conduct detrimental to the image of this organization. Screw ups like this would NEVER be an issues in the Patriots organization. Immature players will NEVER lead you to a SuperBowl Championship!

  7. I guess he makes good money. However this is a unlucky way to celebrate a (3) game win
streak. This guy has been the most improved defensive back during the second half of this
year. Let’s support our team members when they make these kind of mistakes. If he was
a ten-year veteran and not a 23 or 24 year old you could take a serious stance about a DUI.
Although, the Ruggs incident, and now this incident, we have remember they are (23) and
    (24) years old. That is No excuse, but at that age we all went out and got a buzz and still
    drove home.

  8. Short period of time? Gruden made his dumb comments ten years ago. Of course, the powers that be waited until this season to let those comments bite him in the ***. But I agree with everything and everyone here. Can’t the players’ misbehavior wait until AFTER the season is over? Hell, they’ll have five or six months to frolic as they will at that point.

  9. The Raiders need to get used to this type of headline. Even John Madden said he could not imagine coaching football players in LV. Too many distractions in that city for young men of wealth.

  10. Well it all begins with the idiot who was in charge picking these einsteins. This was a guy who gave away 2 draft picks then gave huge contract to Antonio Brown so none of this is surprising.

I believe Raiders must cut Hobbs immediately n send another message to the young idiots who fail to realize how fortunate they r to have blessing of receiving huge salaries to play a game we all love.
But becaue there r the likes of Bruce Arians n Belichick who place winning above all else (they both endorsed the behavior n likes of Antonio Brown) we as a society will fail to produce responsible young men.

  11. where are the experienced ,responsible, players, that have to hold hands of these rookies, who can’t handle million dollar paycheck, experience players need to get ALL rookies a GO-TO CARD …Lawyer 800 #, alcholism is a serious young person problem that affects everyone around them, its very selfish to think even fans are not affected, players dime dozen, but without US there is NO TEAM, STEPUP, GROWUP, OR MOVE ON

  12. OK, there are a lot of problems with this case and I’ll bet that this case gets dismissed. First, I haven’t seen any allegations that the keys were in the ignition, or in his pockets, etc., to be considered in his custody or control. The keys could’ve been in the glove compartment or on the floor in the back seat, or in the trunk (I’ve had clients do that before) Second, nothing about the car being on, or in motion, or anyone seeing him driving. Third, “the exit ramp of a garage” is broad and vague as you’re unable to discern how far this exit ramp was from the actual exit of the garage, or does this exit ramp have an area where someone can pull off to the side on. Third, you noticed, there is nothing about his Blood Alcohol Level, which is critical. Fourth, that is important as Field Sobriety Test can be deemed subjective, and without a BAL over the legal limit they’re going to have problems sustaining this charge especially considering he had been up all day, flying back and forth across the Country and had completed an NFL game a few hours before this. His lawyer will inject fatigue and jet-lag into the equation as to why he feel asleep. I don’t think this is going anywhere…
