Antonio Brown Back With Raiders, But Not Necessarily To Practice

Antonio Brown returner again to Napa on Monday, but not to practice. Helmets aren’t needed in meetings and apparently field work wasn’t on yesterday’s itinerary for the receivers. So AB participated.

Brown’s agent warned against reading too much into AB’s absence on Sunday, but the real test will be when the Raiders take the field again – which happens to be today around noon. And there will be media availability.

Will Brown practice without the Schutt AiR Advantage that we’ve learned all too much about over the past two weeks?

Not necessarily.

Based on a tweet this morning from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it sounds like Brown’s new plan might be to return to the team without taking the field – at least until the helmet situation is resolved. The league is reviewing Brown’s most recent grievance and the process is not expected to take long. The determination also isn’t expected to go in Brown’s favor.

In case you missed it on Monday, Brown apparently likes (‘love’ might be the more accurate term) his helmet more than anyone knew – so much that he even takes it home with him at night.

What else is strange is that Brown wore an alternative helmet while running routes prior to the preseason game in Arizona. Why is he not willing to do the same in practice until his grievances all get sorted out?
