CBS Broadcast Didn’t Give a Particularly Optimistic Outlook on Maxx Crosby’s Knee Injury

Raider fans were caught off guard on Friday when it was announced that Maxx Crosby was ‘doubtful’ for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

They were even more surprised on Saturday night when it was reported that he was planning to play anyway.

Crosby was said to be dealing with an illness this week, but the bigger issue for him appears to be a knee injury that is going to linger through the remainder of the season.

Not a lot was known about Crosby’s knee injury going into this week, but based on Kevin Harlan’s comments during the CBS broadcast, it sounds like the Raiders’ All Pro defensive end is going to need a medical procedure on his knee at the end of the season…

“He has played every snap of 7 of 11 games coming into today,” Harlan said of Crosby in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. “His knee will need some kind of attention, he told us, after the season. So it must be bad. Yet here he is, [playing] without practicing all week long.”

We still don’t know the specifics of Crosby’s injury, but it sounds like he is going to play through discomfort in his knee for the remaining five games of the season.

Despite recording a sack in the game, it was obvious that Crosby wasn’t playing at 100 percent against the Chiefs. The Raiders now have a bye week before hosting the Minnesota Vikings on December 10, and it will be interesting to see how his knee will respond after 13 days of rest.

  1. Dudes like Max Crosby are the reason I still watch and enjoy football. However, with the
way he plays. The always revved up motor. You knew his body would start to break down.
Max Crosby is a Real Raider. Like Howie Long and that bunch. Good luck! Man.
