Marcel Reece played seven years with the Raiders and was a trusted advisor to Mark Davis for three years after that.
Reece is well-connected within the Raider organization and as a long-time player and executive, he’s connected within the league, as well.
Reece made an appearance on the Up and Adams Show on Wednesday and he said he has a “sneaky” destination for Davante Adams that no one is talking about.
“I’m going to tell you this, because I’m a little closer to the situation than I should be,” Adams said to host Kay Adams.
“I think there’s a sneaky team that a lot of people aren’t talking about that could come in late [to the Davante Adams trade discussion],” Reece continued, before adding that he thinks Adams probably won’t be traded for another couple weeks.
Reece didn’t say who the team was but acknowledged that the team rhymed with “Schmills” in a clear reference to the Buffalo Bills.
One takeaway from Reece’s comments is that the Bills don’t appear to be the strongest suitors for Adams at the moment. More than likely, that means the Bills are waiting for the Raiders to drop the price tag on the All-Pro wide receiver.
The Jets continue to be the team most believe would be willing to give up the most for Adams, but there is a lot of uncertainty around the Jets at the moment. Their head coach was fired this week and it’s unclear if their coaching situation will make them a more desperate team for Adams or not.
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce spoke with members of the media on Wednesday and cast some doubt on the likelihood Adams will be traded, but according to two beat writers covering the team, Adams is still as good as gone.

Tired of hearing about it. Trade him already so we can move on.
