Cranky Cowboys Owner Thinks Raiders “Took Advantage” of the Officiating Crew on Thursday

Jerry Jones wasn’t mad at his team after a 36-33 Thanksgiving loss to the Raiders. He wasn’t mad at the refs, either. He was mad at the Raiders for taking advantage of the refs.

In comments made to members of the media after the game, Jones was critical of the way the Raiders played with the understanding that the officials were calling the game closely.

“Oakland took advantage of the situation,” Jones said of the Raiders’ offensive approach against his team and apparently the officials, too.

“I call it ‘throw up ball.’ This will arguably be the most-watched game other than the Super Bowl. I hate that it got down to just throwing the ball up and getting the penalties to get you big plays.”

Of course the Raiders aren’t from Oakland anymore, but Jones also seemed to be confused into thinking the Cowboys weren’t getting calls, too. Both teams were flagged 14 times on Thursday and if the Raiders were playing ‘throw it up ball,’ the Cowboys were most definitely playing ‘throw your hands up ball’ to get phantom holding calls.

Truth is, there is something special about seeing the Cowboys’ whiny owner blame the officials after losing in front of one of the largest television audiences of the year.

Also, when was the last time an officiating crew has been accused of favoring the Raiders?

  1. The officiating was absolutely horrible. Andre James bobbing his head in overtime is a perfect example of how terrible the officiating was. However, the overwhelming vast majorities of the penalties by the cowboys were penalties. They were holding and bumping and they could have had a bunch more Especially the pick play where they obstructed Jonathan Abraham for their 2 point conversion to tie the game. The game shouldn’t have even gone to overtime

    1. Abram also hit blocked in the back on the kickoff return for a TD. Quit whining Jerry your team deserved to lose.

    2. Sad to say there is more Cowboy haters than fans. But if you hate the Cowboys sooo bad why do y’all watch the games? Why are you all so interested on the Cowboys. Sad to say that even the officials are Cowboy haters. They will call penalties for no reason just to let the opposite team win.. sad to say but that is the truth.

      1. And that’s it, you keep believing that you’re losing because of the officials, not because of bad coaching and an overzealous owner.

You’re a stereo typical Cowboys fan.

  2. Crybaby’ Jerry Jones blame officials What a joke For 60 years the officials have unwarranted, penalized our team the Raiders causing 100’s of losses for us. His is the most stupid statement I’ve heard
There’s even books written about the conspiracy against the Raiders for throwing false flags. All other teams can get away with “penalties “ because they know the officials turn their heads when they commit personal fouls every game , every year , nuff said

  3. How about the call against the Raiders center for moving his head the way all centers are allowed to. With about 2 minutes left in regulation it should’ve been 1st and 10 Raiders. Run the clock down and kick the winning FG. Should’ve never had gone into OT.

  4. First he says he not blaming his team
Then he says he’s not blaming the officials and he cries about the raiders passing to their wide receivers forcing phantom penalties, lol maybe he should watch the game in slow motion when the flags were thrown and wear his glasses. Only then he might understand what happened, maybe !!!

  5. The same way Jerry Jones took advantage of his position to force the Raiders out of not being able to return to LA, so he could kiss up the Rams owner to open a business in his stadium. You lost Jerry and if you had all of your players you still would have lost. It is called karma, it it has nothing to do with anything else.

  6. It’s a little hard to get your head turned around when you getting pulled to the ground by Raiders receiver and that one play was a catch and fumble by the Raiders
