David Carr: Derek Didn’t Just Wake Up And Suddenly Forget How To Play Quarterback

David Carr knows Derek Carr as well as anyone and though he might be a bit biased, David says his brother can still play at a high level.

In an interview Thursday on 95.7 The Game’s Damon Bruce Show, Carr talked about what has gone wrong for the Raiders this year and explained why he believes Derek is the same player that finished third in the MVP ballot in 2016.

“Derek has played at an MVP level in this league before,” Carr said on the Damon Bruce Show. “He didn’t just wake up all of a sudden and forget how to play quarterback. There’s definitely some other things going on.”

“Guys don’t just all of a sudden forget how to play football. Derek can play football at a high level. He’s an extremely talented kid. He works harder than anybody I know.”

From a general standpoint, one of the “other things going on” might be one of the issues that was a problem a year ago: leadership in the locker room.

One of the players Damon Bruce brought up was another Bruce. After Sunday’s loss in London, Bruce Irvin seemed to blow off the loss a bit and pointed to what he was excited to get home to. Harmless comment or poor show of leadership from a captain? You be the judge…

Whatever is going on with Carr, Irvin, and everyone else, it’s starting to feel a whole lot like 2017 again… and that’s not a good thing.

  1. What he does need to do is all the sudden forget that he broke his leg. Then he can play football at a high level again.

  2. Hard to imagine anyone wasting any of their time listening to that pile of crap Damon Bruce. Just another overweight blowhard who never plaid any sport, ok maybe tee ball little league, but is an expert on every sport. However, yes get rid of ghetto trash like Bruce Irvin and a few others. Irvin is a disgrace to humanity.
