Deion Sanders Mentions 5 Teams for Shedeur, Including “Still” the Raiders

There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about Shedeur Sanders and his team interviews at the NFL Combine. The headlines, unfortunately, haven’t been particularly flattering.

Sanders has become the most polarizing player in this year’s draft and some of that has to do with his high-profile parent.

Reports have suggested, in no uncertain terms, that some teams are concerned about the presence of Deion Sanders in regard to his son’s NFL career and one head coach has already taken a call in regard to the reports that Shedeur didn’t do well in his interview with the team.

Deion said he figured out which team had been leaking negative stories about Shedeur and called the coach of the team to confront the situation.

“You know me, I’m going to get to the bottom of it,” Deion told ESPN’s Skip Bayless. “So I called the team, I tracked it down, I knew who it was. I called the head coach, and we had a candid conversation… and he said, ‘Prime, that never happened.’ He said, ‘As a matter of fact, it was a great interview. We walked out of there saying, ‘Dang, this kid’s got it.'”

“I said, ‘Yeah, but this guy on your staff lied and said it didn’t, so you need to check him. And he did,'” Deion continued.

“Shedeur has talked to me intently about all the visits he’s had with all the teams, so I know where his heart is. I know where he wants to go. If it’s New York, it’s New York. If it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still the Raiders, if it’s New Orleans, if it’s any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback, I’m happy with it because I know what he’s going to do to the organization.”

One detail that would be interesting to know is why Sanders said the Raiders might “still” be a team Shedeur wants to play for.

He may have been referring to the fact the Raiders just traded a third-round pick for Geno Smith, or was he hinting the Raiders were the team with the assistant coach that needed the head coach to “check him”?

All that’s known about the team that leaked the stories about Shedeur is that the team has a top-7 pick draft, meaning it had to be the Titans, Browns, Giants, Patriots, Jaguars, Raiders or Jets.

If teams are worried that the elder Sanders is going to meddle or bring unnecessary headache to their organization(s), it’s a safe assumption that those teams aren’t going to be impressed by Deion’s phone call to track down the source of the reports around Shedeur.

As for Shedeur, it sounds like there is one team he would prefer to be drafted by, and some believe that team is the New York Giants.

Mock drafts have Shedeur going anywhere from first overall to as late as the end of the first round.

With the NFL Draft now less than a month way, answers are coming soon.

  1. We need DB’s!!! We need two good CBs and a SS! I think Troy Polumolu’s nephew should get a chance to prove he can be a good SS but they should draft a good SS and at least have a good bak up.

The Raiders didn’t shock the world with their free agency. Its funny how these new regimes do the same things and Raidernation just goes for whatever their game plan is! They badly needed to build that LB and DB units and didn’t. The fans don’t seem to worry that they haven’t changed the game plan which has been/ seems to been the dynasty/ Bellichick Patriots’ system!

Fans blamed legend Al Davis for the start of the mess but he worked hard to build good teams and had one when it started losing. Now they seem to be asking for another group of front office people to build a winner and turn this team around. Now some want Mark to sell the team that’s sad, he didn’t make a lot of big decisions that’s been these new NFL people who are inside the Raiders now! when Al was running this team he may loss the last nine years of his career but he wanted to win and spend money to do it and made trades and didn’t scam Raidernation with hype and promises of HCs’ and GM’s that will fix the team and start winning again maybe be a top team.
