DeSean Jackson Takes a Victory Lap: “All I Did Was Kept it Real” on Davante Adams

DeSean Jackson made waves in August when he said Davante Adams wasn’t happy playing for the Raiders.

For anyone needing a refresher, here’s the quote he gave a little over a month ago.

“This one’s tough because me and Davante, we’ve talked, and I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that’s ‘Oh, D-Jax said this and said that” but at the end of the day [Davante] isn’t happy,’ Jackson said on the The Herd with Colin Cowherd prior to the season. “You go from Aaron Rodgers, then you come to the Las Vegas Raiders… and it just didn’t quite work out and so now I just don’t think he’s really that happy there.”

After news broke on Tuesday that Adams had requested a trade, Jackson responded to the criticism he received for the statements he made in August.

“A little over a month ago, I just talked about the situation with Davante Adams. I talked about the boy not being happy and not having a quarterback, and look how fast things done changed,” Jackson said on Tuesday.

“That boy just requested a trade. Him and Antonio Pierce ain’t on the same page. Things is getting bad out there in Las Vegas. The Raider fans tried to talk so much sh– about me, but all I did was kept it real…”

Adams responded to Jackson’s comments in September and said he had barely talked to Jackson and never made any comments to him about his status with the Raiders.

“The facts are the facts and that is not a fact,” Adams said on September 4. “I’ve probably spoken to DeSean Jackson maybe three or four times in my life, and I never had a conversation with him ever and I put that on my kids. I have never spoken with him about anything. The only person I really talk to about my feelings, in general, is my wife probably, and she ain’t out there leaking anything and dropping stuff like that in the media…”

“Whatever has been put out there lately has been complete BS,” Adams continued. “I’ve never talked to DeSean Jackson about one thing.”

As it turns out, the two might not have talked, but Jackson apparently wasn’t wrong.

  1. If you cannot get a one and a lower draft choice, then take a two and a three for Adams. He is a great receiver, runs excellent routes, but he has lost some speed. The Raiders need to build from within and get away from all the distractions and just play.

  2. The legend of Josh McDaniels. A genius in his own mind. There is a void between his little pig ears.
