It’s been overshadowed by the noise around Davante Adams recent days, but it’s rivalry week for the Raiders and Broncos, and the trash talk is already in high gear in Denver.
Despite the fact the Broncos have lost 8 games in a row to the Raiders, Denver’s own Mark Schlereth called the Raiders “dysfunctional” and said the distractions around the team this week aren’t unusual for the organization.
“I think for the Raiders, [this week has been] business as usual,” Schlereth said this morning on Denver’s 104.3 The Fan. “I think that that whole organization is so dysfunctional, which makes it mind boggling that they have won eight straight games against the Broncos because they are about as dysfunctional as any organization in football.”
“It starts with the haircut of their owner,” Schlereth went on. “Like, if you see that haircut of their owner and that members only jacket, you can’t take yourself as a football team seriously. You’re just like, ‘We are run by absolute clown show. Like, what are we doing around here?’”
If the shot at the owner and the organization weren’t enough, Schlereth saved the leftovers for the players, adding that he imagines everyone on the team is looking at Adams and wishing they could leave the Raiders with him.
“I have a feeling that everybody in the Raiders organization is looking at his situation with like longing eyes going, ‘Gosh, I wish I could get out of here,'” Schlereth said. “Like, I mean, distraction, they’re all distracted because I think they all want to leave the Raiders. I mean, I think the place is just an absolute abject disaster.”
That’s a lot of noise from a Denver guy who hasn’t watched his team beat the Raiders since the age of affordable groceries.
And after a speech like that, the Broncos better not find a way to lose at home to the Raiders.

The Raiders have been a bad organization long before Mark inherited the team. But, there is some hope for a turnaround. We may finally have a GM that can bring consistent talent to the roster. This year’s rookie class has several players that are playing meaningful snaps. The jury is still out on AP, but if he can get the team to play all out, consistently, they will have a chance to win every week.

He is the owner of that team too. The NFL is just a different Beast to deal with. Too many multi-millionaire players in NFL. they have contracts to play for a team if it don’t go their way they want out. Let’s make it then the contract is over when you leave the team at the end of season. Then where is the security of that multi-year deal they all want.
