It was reported on Sunday afternoon that the Raiders are signing DeSean Jackson. The hope, of course, is that Jackson can fill the void left by Henry Ruggs, but that’s a tall task for a soon-to-be 35 year-old wide receiver.
Considering the lack of production the Raiders got from their wide receivers on Sunday (with the exception of Hunter Renfrow), it’s fair to wonder if the team might still be considering Odell Beckham Jr., as well.
On paper, it would make sense to add a playmaker like Beckham, but would it be worth welcoming the drama that Beckham (and his dad) might bring?
And after all the injuries, can OBJ still be the receiver he was a few years ago?
If Beckham joined the Raiders, he would most likely take significant snaps away from Bryan Edwards, which wouldn’t be ideal in the long term. But it’s hard to ignore the fact that Edwards was essentially invisible against the Giants on Sunday and there might be a simple explanation for his lack of production.
He hasn’t been able to create space from defenders.
As far as Beckham is concerned, it will be interesting to see where his recent power play in Cleveland gets him. Over the course of his time with the Browns, they were generally better when Beckham wasn’t on the field. That was true again this week in the Browns 41-16 win over the Bengals.
Nevertheless, it will be hard for some to ignore Beckham’s skill set… and it might be hard for the Raiders to ignore the uncertainty they seem to have at wide receiver right now.

Might head into a situation like Antonio Brown. He was a P O S
Yes sign him now!
Sign him with clauses for penalties for conduct detrimental to team and bonuses for exceptional field performance. Gripping and bitching will not be tolerated. If he so much as rolls his eyes he has to go
Could be a distraction is not a reason to improve your team. Al Davis loved to mix things up
Make sure he is more of a fit then a Distraction. Have that talk with him and add clauses in his contract to be a deterrent from him acting up 0 tolerance 1st mess up your outta here, No guaranteed money.
I don’t think it will be a good fit. we do not need anymore drama when he can’t get the ball.
