ESPN Report Says Shedeur Sanders Has a Preferred NFL Team

Unless the Jaguars end up with the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, Shedeur Sanders is expected to be the first player taken.

Several months ago, Deion Sanders said he was going to try to push Shedeur away from certain organizations and some have wondered if the Giants are one of the teams that won’t meet Deion’s approval for his son.

The elder Sanders tried to squash those rumors last week on the Pacman Jones Show, which is ironic considering that’s the same show that welcomed a guest last week who said Sanders doesn’t want his son to play for the Giants.

“Giants are not going to give up that pick,” Sanders said. “The Giants are not giving up that pick. I know that for a fact. Shedeur is going to be the number one pick.”

Pro Football Post on X (formerly Twitter): “Deion Sanders tells @REALPACMAN24 that Shedeur Sanders is going to be the no. 1 pick in the draft. Sounds like he’s okay with the Giants, too. pic.twitter.com/qH0MYcVyjW / X”

But according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, there are people familiar with Shedeur’s thinking who believe he has a preference on where he plays next year.

“Multiple sources close to Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado program believe his preference would be to land in Las Vegas,” Raanan reported on Friday.

There’s no need for the Sanders family to make any strong statements on his next team in December, and maybe it’s worth noting that Deion never actually said his son would play for the Giants. He only said Shedeur would be the no. 1 pick.

There are still no soundbites of anyone in the Sanders family saying Shedeur would play for the Giants, and nothing even close to Deion or his family saying they would like Shedeur to be a Giant.

Maybe it will happen between now and the draft, but it definitely hasn’t happened yet.

Meanwhile, it feels like just about every media personality covering sports is connecting Sanders to the Raiders. The dots aren’t difficult to connect… but will the Raiders lose enough games to be in a position to draft him?

  1. If this article doesn’t prove that Shedeur is the wrong pick for the Raiders, then we’ll never be a winning organization. You have DADDY DEAREST telling the NFL not to pick his son “IF” you are one of the following teams. Sanders will be a bust. Immaturity, entitlement, over hyped…Cam Ward is the solution.

  2. It really hurts to say, but we really need to lose the rest of our games so we are in control of who we get!!!!

  3. Do the Raiders ever look into the strength of schedule crap cuz it always works against them, every time were tied with somebody they let them pick first!

  4. Papa Sanders is only assuming the Giants won’t actually prefer Ward.

If that winds up being the case, and for argument sake only let’s pretend the top 10 doesn’t change between now, and the end of the regular season. Even though we know it will. Let’s also say that none of the current top 5 trade down. There Is a possibility that Shedeur falls out of the top 5. All the way to 6. Where the Raiders are currently slotted.

The only team other then NYG currently in the top 5. That is guaranteed to at least consider drafting a QB in round 1. Is Tennessee.
