Jack Jones Responds to Criticism over “Business Decisions” in Sunday’s Game

Was Jack Jones one of the players Antonio Pierce was talking about with his “business decisions” comments after Sunday’s game?

The internet certainly thinks so, and so does popular football host Pat McAfee.

“We will let you know that within a locker room, anytime somebody calls out somebody’s business decision being made, and it doesn’t work out good… not good,” McAfee said on his weekday show. “That is a very slanderous thing to say to somebody.”

“[To say] ‘we’re making business decisions out here?’ That is a big punch right to the balls. That is a massive shot,” McAfee continued. “So then obviously you think to yourself, ‘What were the plays that he is talking about?’ The internet found it. There was a situation in the fourth quarter with Jack Jones… here it is in the fourth quarter… and that’s what a business decision looks like.”

Whether Jones was a player Pierce was talking about or not, Jones responded on Tuesday to criticisms of the way he played on Sunday.

Jack Jones🏄🏽‍♂️ on X (formerly Twitter): “Yall couldn’t wait to say some bad bout me 🤣🤣 watch the other 7 tackles I made instead of posting 1 tackle. I’m on to next week. I’m better than what I played I know that and ima show that.. / X”

Yall couldn’t wait to say some bad bout me 🤣🤣 watch the other 7 tackles I made instead of posting 1 tackle. I’m on to next week. I’m better than what I played I know that and ima show that..

For what it’s worth, Jones is correct. He was credited with 7 tackles in Sunday’s game and one pass defended.

His weak effort on a tackle in the fourth quarter has been well-documented, but the bigger issue for the Raiders is what happened to get the team there in the first place.

It took a lot of bad football for the Raiders to find themselves trailing 33-7 in the fourth quarter to arguably worst team in the NFL.

Davante Adams talked about that detail on Tuesday.

In his weekly segment on the Up and Adams show, Adams acknowledged that players were taking plays off, even adding that it happened at times before the game was out of reach.

“I agree [with Pierce’s comments],” Davante told host Kay Adams.

“We can’t change the score late in the fourth [quarter], so you just got to put the best stuff you can on tape. I think a lot of people were doing that and there were some guys out there that were just trying to see another day. That’s really not what the game is about and if you look at the tape across the whole game, it wasn’t really just late in the game. It was multiple times throughout the three hours we were out there…”

  1. Yeah who cares what Mc Careless says, AP is fighting for his team and quite frankly his job, so if he calls out an EMPLOYEE due to poor performance then that is what it is, grow some!

  2. Good on AP! These players taking plays off and making business decisions is all to common with the Raiders. It’s time to stop the madness of players letting up on the offense they’re playing. The tackling was horrible and it was obvious that the players were demoralized after the first quarter. A captain needs to right his ship or there will be mutiny and poor performance under his flag and AP is not one to play around and hopefully he does the right thing with letting AIden start. Minshew has turned the ball over five times in three games and we sit at 1-2 because of it!

  3. There was talk the coach has known Jones for a long time so what happened with Jones in New England? Same garbage I guess then the coach must not be to surprise now rt

  4. Doesn’t matter about the bad play to be getting whipped by the 4th quarter. Doesn’t matter you were down by a mile. A professional does his job to the best of his ability irregardless of everything else or how anyone else is doing. The weakest thing on earth is to blame everything around you or point out what you’ve done before instead of just owning up to your own obvious doing.

  5. It is mind blowing to me we can’t figure out what we need to do to fix the problem. It is pretty obvious we need an athletic quarterback. And fix the offline issues. We should have done what we needed to to get jaydenDaniels .We are not willing to take the risk on first round quarterback because of what happened with JamarcusRussell.

  6. The best way to destroy organization is from the inside, this has been proven to unadulterated true. If that’s the case with the Raiders, this season was over with before week 1 and that’s a fucking shame and a disgrace to a historical and proud franchise. Whoever is responsible for this bullshit needs to burn in hell until it freezes over, **** em’
