Jets Expected to Make Another Push for Davante Adams After the Season

Prior to the trade deadline in October, there was a lot of speculation on the future of Davante Adams with the Raiders.

It was reported that Adams approached the Raiders about a possible trade, but was informed by the team that he was not going to be traded.

The Raiders, through one of their faithful mouthpieces, denied that Adams had requested a trade, but the initial report had never indicated Adams requested a trade.

It simply stated that Adams had met with the team to discuss the possibility of a trade…

The October 31 trade deadline is now in rear view, but according to an ESPN report on Sunday, the trade interest around Adams hasn’t gone anywhere.

Via ESPN’s Adam Schefter…

“Sources around the NFL expect that New York will pursue Adams again this offseason, trying once and for all to pair him with Rodgers.

Sources believe that whether the Raiders consider trading Adams could depend on how their season finishes. Since naming Antonio Pierce as interim head coach, the Raiders (5-5) have won two straight games and garnered recognition and respect from around the league, while Adams has looked and sounded extremely happy.

If the Raiders, who visit the Dolphins on Sunday, can continue their winning ways and prove they are headed in the right direction, Adams might want to remain a part of the organization and stay in Las Vegas, where he has enjoyed living.

But if the Raiders struggle down the stretch and Adams thinks a Rodgers reunion in New York enhances his chances of winning, he ultimately could wind up requesting a trade.”

A reasonable interpretation to all this…

If the Raiders don’t finish out the season in a way that satisfies Adams, he will probably be requesting a change of scenery in the offseason.

  1. They would be wise to trade Adams, but only if the compensation is right. The poor talent, especially along the OL, that Ziegler put together on this team is telling. At this point we may not have the future starting QB on this roster. But, it’s hard to get a grasp of O’Connel’s ability due to the poor line play. It’s imperative that we hire the right GM to rebuild this roster. Adams is a luxury that we can’t really use to its full potential, so I think it’s best that they trade him for future draft picks. Plus he’s not getting any younger, as well.

  2. And I add to my previous comment let him throw it early in the game not when they know he’s going to throw it

  3. Never happening Adam’s sees that team as a paper tiger. he has a no trade clause,he grew up a raider fan. Plus he’s one of our 3 best players, and 10 draft picks wouldn’t get you the best w.r.,kick rocks n.y.
