The NFL Players Association released its 2023 organizational report card on Wednesday, and the Raiders finished in the top half of the league in every category but ‘team travel’ and ‘head coach.’
The survey of players was taken prior to Josh McDaniels being fired by the Raiders and based on the results, no head coach in the NFL had a worse locker room situation than McDaniels. The Raiders’ former head coach was given a ‘D’ grade, which ranked dead last in the NFL.
Per the NFLPA report, only 39% of players felt that Josh McDaniels was efficient with their time (32nd overall) and he was deemed least likely to listen to his locker room of any head coach in the NFL.
For context, only former Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera and former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith received a ‘C’ grade or worse in the survey. McDaniels was, by far, the least popular head coach in the league based on the perception of his own team.
As for the rest of the organizational grades, the Raiders finished with respectable scores in every other category.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how Antonio Pierce grades in the 2024 survey.
Pierce is one of the most popular coaches in the league in his own locker room, and despite what a few outsiders might say about him, there’s no question the locker room has rallied around their energetic and outspoken head coach.

What was Davis thinking we he hired McDaniels? Was it his call or did he allow himself to be talked into hiring Joshy boy.
And he’s still being paid to do nothing….wait a minute, he did improve the team with his last act!
