Mark Davis: Raiders Already Won The Battle For Los Angeles

As the Rams and Chargers continue to map out their Los Angeles marketing campaigns, Raiders owner Mark Davis has a message to anyone interested.

The Raiders already own Los Angeles.

“I think we already won that battle,” Davis told Vinny Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News. “It’s kind of funny. They’re talking about the fight for Los Angeles. And Raiders fans have been telling me we already won that fight and that the Rams and Chargers are fighting or the no. 2 and 3 spots.”

He has a point.

The Raiders new Las Vegas stadium has received 29% of it’s PSL deposits from California and a large percentage of those deposits likely came from southern California.

The four-hour drive from Los Angeles and Las Vegas won’t be enough to separate the markets – which could prove to be a major oversight by the NFL owners particularly as it affects the Rams and Chargers.

Not that the owners are particularly concerned. They can just collect another relocation check (probably from the Chargers) if the Los Angeles market implodes again.

Cha-ching!

  1. sad days when business tells the sports team where to go and they have to. The Raiders franchise could have stayed in Oakland, but, no. Our collective so called interests groups are not even trying to preserve tradition. especially when the team is on the rise. Look what happened to the 49’ers.
