With the departure of Davante Adams finally a reality, all eyes are on Maxx Crosby and his future with the Raiders.
Every indication is that the Raiders aren’t interested in trading Crosby, but if the organization is entering a rebuild phase, it’s fair to wonder if they might consider a significant offer for their superstar pass rusher.
One detail that isn’t up for debate, though, is whether or not Crosby is interested in being part of a rebuild.
“I don’t believe in, you know, I’m not here to rebuild, I’m here to win, so, you know, I don’t know whatever that means,” Crosby told members of the media on Thursday. “I’m here to win now, and wherever I’m gonna be, I’m, you know, I’m gonna be here to win, so that’s all that matters to me.”
Without reading too much into Crosby’s statement, the phrases “whatever that means” and “wherever I’m gonna be” are interesting choices of words. He added that he is “gonna be here to win” so he’s not talking about leaving, but it definitely feels like there is a lot of uncertainty around the Raiders right now.
In theory, the Raiders would be able to get a first-round pick and more for Crosby, but his loss would leave a devastating void in the locker room. It’s hard to imagine head coach Antonio Pierce or GM Tom Telesco would be interested in navigating their future with the organization without Crosby in the mix.
The Raiders have lost a few fan favorites over the years, but none would sting the fan base like losing Crosby.
The only way the Raiders can squash the trade speculation around Crosby will be to turn the season around in the next few weeks. They face the Rams, Chiefs and Bengals in the next three weeks and the trade deadline will come two days after their road game in Cincinnati.
If the Raiders somehow get swept in those three games, it’s going to be a stressful 48 hours for Raider fans leading up to the trade deadline. No one is expecting them to trade the heart and soul of the organization, but unless you’re new to following the team, you know better than to rule out anything.

trading Crosby would be another Mc Danials move! That would be an even worse move than the Kalil Mack
move! Mack has played some good football for a long time since being traded. I will in my heart root for the Raiders
But to be honest, i am considering being a Buffalo Bills Fan until the Raiders get their act together. I am so sick of feeling down from Monday to Friday because we lost another game, we are rebuilding, players wanting trades, half
the starters are out, we keep flipping qb’s, neither one is a starter, but we keep trying, we have money in cap space
why the hell don’t we get a qb like Tannerhill, (7m) for 1 year, he has proven his worth over the years, yet he sits out waiting in free agency and we pay minshoo 25m for 2 years???? Plus I think it is quite apparent that we have NO DEPTH on Offense or Defense. I Give Up!

A person who was with the New England Patriots who the Chuck rule was established by Mark Davis I don’t know what the hell you’re thinking about bringing this man in you’re going in the wrong direction I’ve been a raider fan every since the’60s Ben Davis Darryl LaMonica George blanda the 70s oldest sister art Shell all these Hall of famers and here it is you took your *** to Las Vegas that ain’t no fan base for no team every other team that comes in and plays the raiders seem like they’re fanned out way our fans that has to change all them people do is in Vegas who claim to be raider fans are not raider fans living out here in San Diego going back and forth to Oakland was great in the 90s early 2000 then I stopped and got injured could not travel there because the stadium needed remodeled and then going to Vegas no way in hell I would go up to Vegas cuz them are not loyal fans.
I’am almost 72 years old and have cheered on the Raiders since they started in 1960! I never liked Al Davis getting rid of Marcus Allen,,but stayed a fan! Davante Adams i personally feel is a little over hyped and over paid especially since he has been dropping passes, his being traded didnt phase me one way or the other! But! If they trade Maxx Crosby i will be looking to cheer for another team! Maybe the Giants in Honor of my dad passing away!
The Broncos seem to be turning the corner, in Payton’s second year at the helm, even after giving up the farm to get Russell Wilson. They are in proving. Why are we ALWAYS in rebuild mode???
It’s crazy how we all wanted Antonio Pierce to be the coach. Now, you want him out. Stop being hypocrites. We need to be disciplined but we’re not.
First, there is no such thing as a rebuild anymore. A true rebuild doesnt occur in this day n age. You see teams with losing records bringing in new coaches and they produce immediately or pretty quick. The Raiders have some pieces in place so they would not be a rebuild candidate even if they still existed.
That said if this organization contemplates proceeding without Crosby they would show how truly low they have fallen. It would be a move that would have far reaching implications involving things I dont think this team has considered. I believe the fan base would call for Davis’ head n deman his placing his ownership in team for sale n he would be well deserving.
I am going to say what I have been thinking n that is I believe Davis didnt really want to hire Pierce n had it not been for players getting involved Pierce probably wouldnt be the coach. It was the lengthy delay of hiring Pierce n the Organizations failure to reach agreement with Kingsbury not too mention Davis’ multitude of horrible decisions previously that cost the Raiders this season n Adams.
I could delve into the details of the above but I believe Davis still intends to make additional horrible decisions as I think it is Davis’ intention to rehire Gruden as soon as he possibly can showing the entire world how incompetent he is as a team owner. I am almost at my end of my love for this team. Al is turning in his grave pissed at his offspring wishing he had left me control of his creation, the true love of his life because I 100 percent know beyond a doubt that I would have this team in a much better position n competing every year.
